So why did the AARP support the passage of ObamaCare?

A valid question. After all, the law is set to cut Medicare and Medicaid in a big way. These cuts would affect the target demographic of the AARP, seniors, more than any other group. So why would the AARP lend their support to a law that hurts those whom they supposedly represent?

Well, according to a new report released today, the AARP had some very self-serving reasons for supporting ObamaCare. The report, authored by the House Ways and Means Committee, suggests that the AARP stands to pocket an extra $1 billion DUE TO these cuts in Medicare.

Sounds strange? It does until you take into account how the AARP makes the majority of its money. Andrew Breitbart’s Big Government offers a good explanation:

Because AARP hates All People, but they love money and power.

The AARP is not an advocate for Seniors, they are an insurance company. Thy are only interested in profits and just doubled the salary of the CEO.

Geeez, talk about AARP and insurance. My sister had a knee replacement surgery scheduled with a doctor she had been seeing for a long time. Luck would have it she had the big birthday the week before she was to have surgery in Florida. She had been with a really good private insurance all along. Her husband researched all 2ndary insurances. He was sold a bill of goods. Two days before the surgery the office called and told her they did not accept the AARP portion.
They were stunned. It had been sold as something everyone accepted. It was cancelled and she found an ortho guy that accepted the wonderful AARP. I told her not to get it as I have heard many complaints about AARP and the coverage

Great response to AARP!

But, you might consider the round file, thus letting them waste money on mailings. They have been bugging me for 10 years and I ignore the mailings, thinking that passive resistance (in this case) is the most effective.

AARP will funnel a HUGE CHUNK of that money back into the dem campaign coffers....it is yet another great big democrat money laundering scheme. Like the UNIONS who repay democrats in spades, so do AARP elites. And like Soros who got the great big oil windfall breaks in uhbama's most recent trip to Brazil. He will funnel big chunks back as well.

And worse....the MONEY AARP is getting comes on the back of huge MEDICARE CUTS in uhbama's plan....so the old folks who think AARP is a necessity are the ones who get hurt.

I hate the AARP. Hate it.

AARP is a liberal bastard insurance firm that doesn’t give a rats ass about seniors!

I’ve been throwing their crap in the round file for 25 years.

Why am I getting AARP literature in the mail? I’m in my early 40s! And NOT “retired”, nor will I be able to, because my taxes go to supporting liberal union thugs who ARE retired. At 50.
