The theory seems to be back then they moved kids along with their age group.
Plus, they may have expected less from him given his race.

Factor in his grandfather worked for the CIA and there was a plan for Barry.

How does Barry go from pot smoker (his high school yearbook photo featured Zig Zags), B- student, no honors college degree to Harvard Law School?
