WI: Woman faces charges in threatening emails to lawmakers (govt commies REFUSE TO ARREST HER!)
WKOW ^

MADISON (WKOW) -- Authorities say 26-year-old Katherine Windels sent disturbing emails to 16 Republican senators, repeatedly threatening to kill them.

Windels, of Cross Plains, faces four charges including using a computer to send a threat and creating a bomb scare.

Two of the counts are felonies, two are misdemeanors. The criminal complaint says the emails were sent on March 9, the same day senate Republicans passed the revised budget repair bill with no Democrats present.

According to the complaint, Windels told the senators "you will be killed and your families [sic] will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks." She threatened to "put a nice little bullet in your head," and made reference to several bombs.

Investigators visited Windels at her home the next day. According to the complaint, she told them she had sent the emails, and did so because she was very angry about what the senators had done. She also said she didn't intend to carry out the threats, and was not arrested.

Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne filed the charges Thursday. He says "it's odd" law enforcement never took Windels into custody.

"The reality is, the person was not placed into custody, so at some point, law enforcement didn't see the person as an imminent threat," Ozanne said. "It's not that the case was not serious or taken seriously by law enforcement or by this office."

This morning, the Justice Department sent a letter to the media, saying it was concerned about the "lack of action" on the case by the D.A.'s office. The Justice Department had referred the case to Ozanne two weeks prior.

Ozanne says his office filed charges in an appropriate amount of time.

"The file was reviewed as quickly as possible," he said.

He declined to comment on whether the letter could be the result of mounting tensions between his office, and the Justice Department. The two are pitted against each other in the lawsuit against the Governor's budget repair bill.

Windels is not in custody. The D.A.'s office says she won't be arrested.

The district attorney's office said Friday morning, the 26-year-old will now make her initial appearance Thursday, April 21.

If convicted on all counts, she could face up to seven years, six months in prison.

Unless reports of her only having a 2-yr. Associates Degree are wrong, she’s not a certified teacher. She could work at a private preschool or an after-school child-sitting program though. I’ve also seen reports that her father is a psychiatrist and her mother is a Madison area school psychologist, which indicates the undereducated, still at home at 26, Katherine probably has a problem-filled history.

"So you can now make very specific threats to kill lawmakers and their families and you don’t get arrested!"

No, you can now make very specific threats to kill Republican lawmakers and their families and you don’t get arrested!

Hmmm, didn’t law enforcement in Tucson ignore the obvious violent rantings of Loughner until he finally killed people. I suppose they just thought he wouldn’t REALLY do anything...

Yes we are all shocked (shocked I say!!!) she is a teacher. On top of that she graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College which is a communist bastion (not joking) This college sneaked in all kinds of salary increases before Governor Walker signed the law

She’s a dead ringer for my sister’s daughter-in-law. Sis’ daughter-in-law is a teacher too but in Missouri at a church school.

I gotta send her a link to this. She’ll get a laugh out of it.

On second thought I won’t do it, what with all the comments about how ugly she is. My niece-in-law is not ugly, being a conservative.

Man, she looks whacked! Typical libtard expression: dull and empty.

She actually looks like one of Manson’s girls with the “X” between her eyes!

Your account sounds right on to me. She has been kind of a nut for a while. An underachiever given her parents who must agonize over her

Seems this is not her first interaction with LE regarding her written words. From Freedom Eden, it appears she tried to pass herself off as a "Lisa Patterson", a woman who had made complaints about Katherine Wendels' text messages last fall.

............."According to the criminal complaint, Windels sent the threats from a Gmail account, user name "Lisa Patterson" with an e-mail account address of lessylisa@gmail.com.

The IP address from which the aforementioned e-mails were sent belonged to Karen and William Windels, who reside...in the village of Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin."..................

................."[Special Agent] Tijerino reports at 5:41 p.m., he received information from [Special Agent] King that the subscriber for email account: lessylisa@gmail.com had a secondary email account: nickydoodlebug@rocketmail.com. "............

..............."A Cross Plains woman charged with felony crimes for allegedly threatening state senators over the budget repair bill was investigated by Madison police officers last fall over text messages.

Police reports released to WKOW27 News show a Madison woman contacted police over concerning text messages from Katherine Windels.

Dane County district attorney Ismael Ozanne Thursday charged Windels for allegedly sending e-mails to all nineteen republican state senators, threatening to kill them over their actions on proposed public employee collective bargaining revisions. A criminal complaint states Windels set up an email address under the name of acquaintance Lisa Patterson and used that address to deliver the email threats.

Madison police reports show Patterson told police on Oct. 14, 2010 she had received text messages from Windels and wanted follow up from officers.

Madison police’s records custodian redacted all reference to the content of the text messages in reports released to WKOW27 News.

In the reports, an officer stated he tried to contact Windels, but was unsuccessful, and ultimately left a voice mail message telling her to cease any contact with Patterson."..................

It might just be me, but am I correct that I tend to see a connection between the mental health and violent nature of public employees and their offspring than of the general population? The public worker/s (usually they form a family unit with both parents being wage earners from your taxes) tend to feel entitled to their job and lifestyle. The children come forth with this sense of entitlement too.

Hey Katherine some of these officials carry heat and would not hesitate to exterminate a cockroach like you.

Wisconsin is one of only two states that completely prohibits anyone but police officers and sheriffs' deputies from carrying concealed weapons for self defense.

The new governor and pubbies want to change the law, but in WI. they don't recognize the 2nd Amendment as part of the US Constitution.

Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne filed the charges Thursday. He says "it's odd" law enforcement never took Windels into custody.

He thinks it's 'odd' that unionized law enforcement officers didn't take a unionized teacher into custody for threatening statements made in conjunction with a bunch of union goons.

It appears as though Mr. Ozanne has a bit of 'babe in the woods' about him.

I really feel sorry for her.
She went to college to become a teacher in Madison.
She most likely assumed that she would be a Millionaire by the age of 45 and retire at 55 with a MASSIVE pension.
Now these evil republicans have stolen her dream.

Who could blame the horse faced Moonbat?
