Wasn't around for WWII, but my guesses are 1) there were no limits because; 2) if you did something that inspired the enemy, real Americans would seriously kick your @ss.
You may remember real Americans ... the people who damned near don't exist anymore ... who put America first.
Today we have too many who put themselves first, their ethnic (or victim) group second and no thought of America other than what they can get from it for free.
Whining, sniveling, gutless wimps and wusses.
