While certainly it is possible he is reelected, it is certainly not probable at this stage. This level of pessimism is not productive. Let’s work hard to win.

Work hard to win in the primaries because if we nominate another "McCain" or Romney, all is indeed lost. I and a whole host of others simply will never vote for Romney and his ilk.

We could have won the last time if the Republicans did not trash our own candidates. It will happen again. It's OK to like a certain candidate but to literally destroy our selves is stupid. McCain is an ass but he would not have done what most of us knew King Obama would do with his hope and change crap. We have a lot of sick bad butts in our party that cannot think. Any Republican, even Romney, would not have destroyed America like the Democrats which we have to realize that communists socialists are death to our western way of life. Any proof needed?

It’s hard to do so, when no one on our team has even announced yet. That complicates things. If someone exciting doesn’t enter the race, Romney is likely to clean up just because voters don’t see a viable alternative. Running him against Obama would be a disaster, as I don’t believe he could withstand the scrutiny of a presidential campaign. Of course, not even Romney has officially announced yet. On one hand, this is smart policy as we saw what happened to people who announced too early last time. On the other, it creates an impression of being wishy-washy, lacking confidence, or even attention-seeking (does anyone believe Newt actually thinks he could win, for example, or is just trying to keep his name in the news).
