New Orleans woman fatally shoots armed intruder

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police say a woman fatally shot a man who had broken into her home. The shooting happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say the woman had just entered the home with her three children, when an armed intruder broke in a short time later. They say the man flashed a gun and the woman pulled her own weapon and fired at the intruder multiple times.
The unidentified man was taken to a hospital where he (was pronounced) dead.
Detectives have classified the shooting as justifiable. The case will now go to the Orleans Parish District Attorney's office for review.

I hate it when I hear that the perp got away.
If the detectives have declared it justifiable, what is served by having things reviewed by the DA's office? If the DAs clear the shooting, will the case then go to the state Supreme Court for review? And then what? How many times does it have to be deemed justifiable, to be justifiable?
Actually..she was also wise to kill the perp..because now there is only her story..and that is the best story there is..

Do cops realize that if we arm the citizens, their jobs are a lot easier. All you have to do is write up some paperwork?

Yes, and they've followed it through to the logical conclsion. Namely if more citizens defended themselves from criminals there would be far less demand for police. any power taken by citizens is power that is not in the hands of government bureaucrats. The bureaucrats (armed and otherwise) don't like that.
