Obama says shutdown would be ‘inexcusable’ (GOP House members passed a budget the Rats rejected)

Congressional negotiators raced against the clock Wednesday to reach a deal to fund the government for the rest of the year.

As Democrats and Republicans continued to bicker publicly over who is responsible for the weeks-long stalemate over the 2011 budget, senior aides to House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) made progress in private talks, raising hopes for at least the broad outlines of a pact by week’s end.

The two leaders then spent nearly 90 minutes Wednesday night in the White House with President Obama, who told reporters in a very rare late-night briefing that progress was made but no deal was yet at hand.

“I remain confident that, if we are serious about getting something done, we should be able to complete a deal and get it passed and avert a shutdown,” Obama said. “But it’s going to require a sufficient sense of urgency from all parties involved.”

He’s spent 90% of the time describing the action and 10% participating in the action. Fairly stock standard for this armchair president but it’s clear he is terrified.

Don’t you love the “WE” will get something done. Obama neglects to mention he has more important things to do than stay around taking care of business. There is CAMPAIGNING do to, don’t you know? Of course, this article seems to be giving him a free pass on this - which we all know they would have done for Bush as well. (Sarcasm off)

Isn’t this the same budget the Democrat majority Congress, and the President were supposed to have passed last year, but did not do so as they anticipated losing their majority, and wanted to blame the Republicans for our woes?

Seems to me this scenario was predicted, and is playing out right before our very eyes.

The Rs should just man up, understand that there will be a shutdown, and carry on.

Too bad they won’t—that would REQUIRE BALLS.

The MSM certainly won’t be able to even “IMPLY’ that the Dems might be the irresponsible party since that wouldn’t fit into their agenda. They will demonize the “freshmen” congressmen and Boehner through this mess. Unfortunately, while more and more of the electorate are now educated more than they used to be, there is a large segment who will fall for everything the media tells them (otherwise, this “made-up” man would never have walked into office.”

And I even heard Schumer on the radio yesterday trotting out the exact same speech he got coaching the players on.

Let’s see..who had control of House, Senate and Presidency last year when a budget was due?

I agree,I fear the worst ,this Community agitator is accomplishing all his goals, the country is not just divided,it is at each others throat and that does not end well.
I dont know if you see how every election seems to be a 50,50 affair I find that almost surreal. How can Every question be 50,50? what are the odds of that, dont tell me 50,50! Look at that supreme court contest the other day in Wisconsin,The thing ended at 50,50,when they just had an election where the state reversed the Governors office and Legislature.
They just had some Nonpartisan thing where these two people faced off against each other and this Prosser Cleaned this womans Clock, now he Loses by a Couple hundred votes?

The Republicans should be telling the dems and the President:

"Hey, morons! We've passed our bill! We're waiting for you! Get your butts in gear and stop blaming us! This shutdown is on your heads!!!"

50/50. You know, you’re right. I never thought about it before but, in all likelihood, the Dems and unions now just how much they need to steal the election and that is how far they carry it.
I do believe, though, that Obama actually may have taken this last election through media manipulation of who our candidate would be. A friend of mine works in a bank and said that she couldn’t believe the calls the bank got after Obama was elected from people wanting to know how this would impact their home mortgage. Between the Pubs putting up such a doofus for a candidate and the public actually believing that Obama would give them all cars, phones, homes etc., the gullible were scammed.
We have to hope the Pubs are a little smarter this year and don’t let the press pick their candidate for them.

All my logic synapses hurt when I think about how duplicitous the DIM/LIBs are about this lack of budget thing. Ouch!

There's not a shred of honesty left on the left. It is entirely a matter of manufactured lies and propaganda devoid of reality and lacking any responsibility whatsoever.

All they are focused on is the destruction of our economy by any means possible. I hate it. I really, really do.
