Every thoroughfare named after MLK I’ve ever encountered has been an artery of crime running through the city. Want drugs, a prostitute, or just to be shot? Check out MLK Jr. Drive.

You are so right!! I live on Long Island and every neighborhood that has a MLK street, avenue, blvd. or drive in it is a bad neighborhood. And that is on Long Island which for the most part is all suburban. I would not venture, ever, on MLK Blvd. in NYC. This is saying something profound.
Spot on! I’m sure MLK is proud his name has been attached to every dope and ‘ho district in the world.
They would be more respectful of his legacy in getting his name removed and re-attached to something with some urban credibility. That is, of course, if they see him as someone worthy of respect rather than someone on whose coat-tails they can cruise for the duration.
Bingo
No joke about the MLK in Austin, especially east of IH 35. That is one of the worst crime areas in the city. Don't go there after dark.
