What the heck are “tyres”?

The original article appears to be British. "Tyres" = tires, "boot" = trunk, "nearside" = passenger side, "offside" = driver's side, "wing" = fender. And so on.

Yeah, I know they spell “tires” with a Y in Great Britain; it’s still weird to see that spelling for tires on the ‘.S. president’s Cadillac limo.
