They may very well have to use nuclear weapons on Iran, since the US has provided no leadership in stopping their nuclear program. We launch cruise missiles against Libya but ignore Iran that is exporting weapons to the Taliban that are killing Americans.
I remember reading in Daniel Yergin’s book “The Prize” about the Yom Kippur war that the C-5s out of Dover had to wait 12 hours for the winds to die down at the refueling base (Lajes Field, Azores—where I spent 2.5 years). Consequently the giant C-5s flew into Israel during daylight hours and enraged the Arabs. The OPEC oil embargo of ‘73-’74 was the result.
