The White House has officially announced that President Barack Obama will veto House Republicans one-week troop funding bill that would prevent a government shutdown, calling it a distraction from real work.
The president believes that we need to put politics aside and work out our differences for a bill that covers the rest of the fiscal year, the Obama administration said in a statement. This bill is a distraction from the real work that would bring us closer to a reasonable compromise for funding the remainder of fiscal year 2011 and avert a disruptive federal government shutdown that would put the nations economic recovery in jeopardy.

Too bad they can’t get it thru the Senate and onto his desk so he can veto it. Ahem.
Well, if this comes to pass, the government is shut down, America is going to find out just how much (or little) they need the massive government. But the military is always working and Obama is wrong, wrong, wrong to use them to pressure an agreement. But scumbag Demos don’t care about anything but power.
Fine, let the chickenhawk veto military pay. Then override the chickensh6ts veto.
Ya know? Maybe I should report “Abuse” on myself,,,, but I’m so sick and tired of this asshole,,,,,,,
Any chance that this ends postively for Obama like it did for Slick in ‘95 just went out the window. It’s hard to garner support when you just decided to stop paying our troops in the middle of three wars.
Harry Reid will have to fall on his sword in the Senate and bottle up the CR so it does not reach the President’s desk and the President has to embarrass himself by vetoing continuing pay for the troops. Still a wise move because it paints the Dems in the Senate as the oned opting to shut down the government by bottling up the bill.
Apprive it in the Senate just to make the ‘O’ veto it and make the ‘O’ Carter #2.
Nope. Didn't you get the memo? He has a "long planned" mini vacation this weekend with the wife and kids. I kid you not.
It’s the 23 senate RATS up in 2012 who will pay the price for this, less so Obama. At least for now.
Let me see. I sign a contract to provide a service for pay, then you decide that you’ll not pay. Doesn’t that break the enlistment contract?
Also, add in the homo push, and, were I in now, I’d be on my way home.
“and make the O Carter #2.”
I think we passed that mark a few weeks ago.
