Morris: "I want a cut of $61 billion. I want the Republicans in Congress to keep the campaign commitment to the American people of a $100 billion cut. And I'm shocked at your interview with Congresswoman Bachmann. She was saying, 'Oh, there's going to be a deal, they'll come together, there'll be a compromise'. Well a compromise that is less than $61 is BREAKING THE PROMISE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. And, above all....

Good point. But I think the Tea Party has the liberal MSM on the run. They first tried to dismiss it as Pelosi did as “astro-turf.” BUT, the fact that they spend so much time slandering it just shows how afraid they are of WE THE PEOPLE... By the way, since all their other defamatory labels havn’t worked their latest strategy is to apply the oldest one in the book — “EXTREMISTS” We all know who the real extremists are - those who are ruining America with unsustainable debt!

He united the GOP and went after Independents and conservative Democrats.

He did not unite the GOP elitists when he ran in '76 and'80. He went around them. Do you remember the vitriol from the Rockefeller wing of the party and the contentious 1976 convention? He made a new coalition of like minded people to make the Ford wing powerless and forced to follow him in '80. Reagan inspired the religious right with Pat Robertson to accomplish just that. As President, he was successful because he had public support, not from the GOP in the congress. Remember weak RINOs like Bob Michel?

I don't know why you directed you comment towards me. I was defending Morris for the most part. He is right here and he is a shrewd tactician with a record of solid successes. The GOP said they were going to do something and they are looking wobbly. Point to where Reagan promised things in an election and didn't deliver?

I had to re-read it a few times because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

Can't serve two masters. Michelle Bachmann appears double minded who while considering a run for president also has her eye toward reelection and is engaging in political calculations rather that real leadership.

On Beck she said, in so many words, that you should vote for a rino if that’s what it takes to get the majority. It took Beck asking her four times before she finally back tracked a little and said “vote your conscience”.

Bachmann surprises me with this position.

She hired one of the hucksters ex-campaign experts and now she's probably listening to his advice.

Point to where Reagan promised things in an election and didn't deliver?

In 1980, Ronald Reagan ran for president with the promise that if he were elected, he would abolish the Department of Education. The DOE still exists today.

Oh? I hadn't heard that. That could be bad news for her.

Bachmann was on Sean Hannity’s radio program today and he asked her (without mentioning Morris by name) about her going wobbly on the issue. I was hoping she would resolve this once and for all with clear and direct answers. Unfortunately, all she gave in reply was spin. I felt more confused about her views AFTER she replied than before!
