Great Photo Doc!Are these scars related to any known surgical procedure that you might be able to indicate?
The scars look like they may have been from being slashed with a knife or with a sword.The scar tissue is minimal though, as it they scars had been treated subsequent to healing.INTERESTING.

Maybe he got slashed in his trip to Pakistan, as a college student.It sure looks like it.

I have no idea what surgical procedure could produce a scar that extensive. It seems too long and irregular to have been created by a surgical procedure (but I'm just a foot surgeon, so who knows.) It looks more like a scar following repair of a massive scalp avulsion injury [the images at that link are not for the faint of heart!!!]:

Actually, the blood supply to the scalp is great, so a scalp avulsion injury can heal well without the need for further reconstructive surgery.
