Cutting Thunder Birds is a good Idea, but leave the Blue’s alone.

“Last I saw we won in WI......... We don’t have the senate or the WH, this was a huge win given we are only one spoke in the wheel. They will have to vote on what they agree to vote on, remember we have another battle coming up very fast... the debt ceiling. Ya’ll have to look at this as moving the line forward, sometimes it will be inches, sometimes more...”

I agree with the ‘We won’s This is a step way up from the
usual Republican capitulation. Imagine Trent Lott fighting this battle for you.

However much progress this represents, our progress from here depends a lot on appreciation.

If those who don’t appreciate what we accomplished here show nothing but criticism then Boehner might just decide not to bother so much. But if we join together to encourage this progress we might just get a lot done over time.

i’ve got to disagree. Boehner did a great job. I can’t figure why folks are having problem with what he’s done.

First, he made the most important question in US history get center stage....the life of the unborn. We have 53 million dead babies on the national conscience and Boehner beat them on it.

FINALLY, there is to be a meaningful ABORTION vote in the US Senate (and House).

ADDITIONALLY, he has engineered another vote on Obamacare in the US Senate (and presumably House). Obamacare is ALSO a pro-choice document.

HE has defunded the IRS increase.

ALL OF THE ABOVE, costs money — big money on Obamacare and the IRS expansion — so the 40 billion he horsetraded up from the Democrats opening position of 4 billion must have added to it the impact of defunded abortion, defunded Obamacare, and defunded IRS expansion.

And Boehner accomplished all this outnumbered 2 to 1 in terms of the legislative process.

They did not have to give anything. They had the vote power to give him nothing.

I see, we lost the battle but can win the war...right. How did that work out for the CSA at Bull Run.

I keeping telling people that the only way for this country to get back on common sense footing is to throw out everyone on Capital Hill and let “Joe 6-pack America” make the rules. Then you’ll see common sense changes that will save the nation. Until then, we’re on the road to financial, moral, and societal Armageddon.

It’s not clear next week’s bill will pass. There will be defections both by conservative Republicans (who say the cuts are insufficient) and progressive Democrats (who say the cuts go to far).

This is why every seat counts. We need to increase the Republican majority and increase our presence within the Republican majority.

Wisconsin is the key. If we can balance the budget without tax increases in that state, we can do the same thing at the federal level. The country is not hopelessly lost. We have to soldier on. This is our gerenation’s Valley Forge.

I am with you. Hussein got $78B less than requested. The Republicans can run on the FACT that they passed a budget whereas the Rats did not for over a year. I refuse to join in on the whining.

The ones who should be whining are the liberals.

"Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy." Sir Winston Churchill, Speech, 1941, Harrow School

The Dems understand this. Our side, apparently, still does not. Once again....[sigh]....

Thank you for bringing some sanity to this board. Everyone is so 100% or nothing. They don’t understand how this has to play out until we get control of the senate and the presidency. Then we can save the country. Now we have to save our movement....keep it moving forward and prepare to kick their asses in the next election and every election after that.

Harry was not really smiling. That was a death rictus. He punted with trying to make this about *women’s health* (Federal money for DC abortions)and failed. I used to think the quavery voice was affected. Now, I wonder if he may be losing it.

The reason we eventually lost back in the Newt/Clinton era was precisely because Newt (who has few friends here)WAS loud, tough and obnoxious. He made it personal and Clinton had more charisma, plus the media, of course. Clinton just took credit for the reforms and cuts and Newt was left holding....whatever.

I hear a lot of support for Boehner from the TP caucus. This is a 6-month budget and it was necessary because the spineless donks refused to pass any budget in an election year. $80B in annualized cuts is a fair start. Now, watch everyone go full-court press against Ryan in the 2011/2012 budget.

zerO tried to imitate Clinton by taking credit.(This indicates where the polls really are) Boehner will be low-key and not crow about anything as we continue to push back the spending. He actually seems to not be an egoist, like Newt. It isn’t about him and he appears to know that. Also, have you noticed that he has around 15 donks voting our way, allowing him to give GOPers in marginal districts some ability to vote in manner that increases their chances for re-election. There has been some very well-managed politics played in the House and we need to appreciate that.

We are fighting nearly 100 years of incrementalism. It is going to take time, like it or not. I think the price of silver, the lead times to fill orders for prepper items, the outright thuggery of the unionistas on TV night after night and the increasingly disturbing political and military events in the Middle East are beginning to concentrate the minds of average Americans. Better people remain dissatisfied with the cuts as being too small than in the streets rioting against austerity.

It is going to be bad, short term, no matter what happens in Congress. For me, every month they can buy us before collapse is a gift and allows us to increase our preps over time,on earned income.

Boner and the GOP did not cave in as some people are accusing them. The Republicrats are as much a gang of big government loving global socialists as the Dumbocans. When the GOP controlled the entire federal government how many departments or programs were cut? How much was the budget reduced year to year? How much was the deficit reduced or the debt? The Republicrats didn't cave in. They were working with their pals to pass the largest budget of all time with the largest deficit of all time. They just had to put on a little show for their rube constituents back home to keep up appearances.

This country is doomed unless the people realize that the Republicans won't save them from the Democrats and the Democrats won't save them from the Republicans.

The really sad thing is that people are saying this a "cut" of $39B when in fact that's just a cut in what the Dem's proposed to increase.

It's not a cut. It's an increase in spending from 2010! The 2010 fiscal budget was $3.552 Trillion. This budget with it's alleged "cut" is $3.83 Trillion.

But the Stupid Party negotiates a fictitious "cut" which is actually a $300 billion INCREASE from last year, and we call it a cut instead of what it is.

The sound you hear is the "ratchet effect" and the Republican faithful have been played again.

Amazing is it not? Boners job must be to make Obama look better. I am over the Republican Party. Libertarian is the way to go. I wasted 2 years trying to help the GOP get the House back...For This??? Ferget it.

“next 6 years the govt - under GOP budgets grew smaller than at any time in the previous 30 years”
“A cancer which is growing more slowly just lets you die more slowly.”

Wrong analogy, because the debt to GDP ratio also went DOWN during the time period, as did the spending/GDP ratio ... that debt./GDP ratio is now zooming higher under the Obama budget.

So a better analogy: Our deficit and spending is cancer that we got under remission for a while back when Newt was Speaker. Now it is flaring back up under the massive debt and deficits ($5 trillion in 4 years under Obama/Pelosi/Reid) and can even kill us. We just got a tiny sample of the medicine needed to save us. Lots more to do.

It is really not all that complicated if one can add and subtract.

You know what, I didn't refer to numbers at all but made a general comment.

However since you insist on being a jerk over and over I will say this.

I CAN MOST LIKELY DO THE NUMBERS MENTALLY FASTER THAN YOU COULD DO THEM ON A CALCULATOR SO DON'T GIVE ME THE CRAP ABOUT BEING ABLE TO ADD AND SUBTACT

So juvenile.

I think it is. Reduce the government to bare minimum and the social issues will take care of themselves. Privatize everything but the military and get the Feds out of it. These battles should be fought at the state and local level.
