This just shows haw ignorant obama is. If you trade in a gas guzzler someone’s going to buy it. It’s not going to take it off the street. The Cash For Clunkers didn’t take many off the street either. I’m sure they were wholesaled out and someone is driving them today.

I am surprised as well that they don’t have some sort of alternate supply sourcing strategy - most all major manufacturers have this ability. Which also makes me wonder how much of the Toyota brand still relied on Japanese production. I’m curious to know if they are operating in a “protectionist” mentality where they are not using foreign, lower wage sources of components as is happening in the U.S.

And with gas topping $4 a gallon, I would bet the F-150 and Silverado are going to see major reductions in sales...

It is reported in the Cincinnati Enquirer this morning that the most popular purchased vehicle in the area is the Ford F-150 truck.

The F-150 is not only the most popular, it's the biggest seller in American *history*.

... the most popular purchased vehicle in the area is the Ford F-150 truck. For automobiles, the Toyota Camry ranks first and the Toyoda Corolla ranks second.

I love my as-yet-to-be-produced all electric vehicle which seats five, is air-conditioned, and will go 100,000 miles between 15 minute recharges. It easily recharges almost anywhere at the abundant solar-powered recharge stations. They will be made by the UAW to assure the highest quality and a warranty won't be necessary, they will be indestructible.

I get all goose-pimpily just thinking about it. I'll be glad when they make them.

Yes it does.

You’re right, I highly doubt all of “the clunkers” ended up on the scrapheap. Just another waste of money...but whatelse does the idiot-in-chief know how to do?
