" There is no will to do anything about the deficit...What did our leaders agree...reduce 2011 deficit by 38 Billion dollars..represents 1% of what the Govt is spending in 2011. It represents less than 2.5% of the deficit for that year...If this is the best we can do...our fiscal house will crumble.
There will be more rhetoric about the debt ceiling,the debt limit...that`s the next big vote.I expect that Congress will once again irresponsbly and recklessly vote to increase the debt ceiling because again there is no resolve as this ridiculous charade demonstrates where they were arguing between 30 billion and 60 billion worth of cuts. They`re arguing over a rounding error in a budget deficit which is actually going to be alot worse than they`re projecting over the years...

Some may see this as a disappointment. Others see it as a failure of leadership by Boner&Co.
Given the fact that dems hold the Seante and the presidency, I think republicans got the better part of this deal.
The pubs could have probably held out for a lot more but then there would have been a government shutdown and probably they would have been the ones held to blame for it.
Even though the dems have done virtually nothing at all about coming up with a budget of their own, balancing the budget, making any necessary government budget cuts and doing something about the national debt and the devaluation of the dollar, all of which they should be eminently held accountable and responsible for.
This is only the end of round one and more of this kind of uncompromising behavior is in the offing and let us hope and pray that the republicans hold out for more the next time. This was a good start but a lot more needs to be done. Now let’s see if the pubs have enough guts to follow it through to the end.
Hopefully the next time all these dems come home and hold town hall meetings, they will get a big earful from their constituencies.

Why have a ceiling when you simply raise it each time it looms? If politicians were honest they would simply do away with it...but they aren’t. The debt ceiling is a ficion visited upon the masses to calm them and prevent revolution.

Sorry, having a hard time with this whole mess. Hold out for more next time? Really? The President put Planned Parenthood, a social program bent on the destruction of the family, ahead of paying the troops who are currently engaged around the globe!
The only way to make this stop...is for the producers to go on strike.
We have often remarked that those that get a paycheck should not have their taxes removed and paid by the employer. Well, fire all your paycheck workers and hire them as subcontractors sole proprietors. Pay them their full worth and let them sort out what goes to the government.
All these social programs have done little to help society, in fact they create the situation in which the community is broken up. Instead of people learning to help each other they are pitted against each other. While we have lamented the societal break-up of the family...we've missed the bigger picture. The break-up of our culture.
Next time? More next time? The only answer is to free the paycheck slaves and put the power of money back into their hands.

I see it as complete capitulation. This was one of 2 points to get something undone. Total flop. The next is the debt ceiling. they will squabble and flail for the TV a while then roll over and play dead upon command. Disgusting. The Republicans are a waste of time.
