What's the conservative position on this? The way I learned it is that a man manages his death just like he manages his life. The last thing you should do is push these decisions off on your family members without some type of document to guide them.
As the lawyers say, the Schiavo affair brought the living will issues to the forefront. Everybody wants one because they don't want to be a pawn in your game. That is why this is a difficult issue for you. Nobody is listening to you
No, we don't. That's what eats away at you. That's why you made it mandatory that all hospitals have push them on their patients. That's why you have these seminars where vulnerable people are pressured into signing them. Because clearly you do not believe in letting us decide for ourselves.
No. Everyone does NOT want one. And most people know exactly what their family’s wishes are. Further, a “living will” can be over ridden by a court as we have seen recently. It is the death cult that is foisting these on people. They are NOT “living wills”. What we NEED is to take away the leftists and the court’s “right” to kill people they believe are inconvenient.

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc.
Didn't you say all educated people are leftists? Why would you care what us dumb conservatives believe?
The issue about Terri was that her husband murdered her. He received a settlement based on his statement that she would receive medical care and therapy. The moment he had the money, he had her cat put to sleep and their wedding rings melted down. He threatened physical violence towards a nurse who fed Terri Jello. He didn't want her to recover.
By the way, it's not that we want to make your decision. We just don't want you making our decisions.
Now, I have to agree with Corporal Ficklin on this one. He may have a history of obfuscating, but his very first post on this thread he made it abundantly clear where he stands. He's no friend to vulnerable people. You won't see him rushing to the defense of a little old lady being Schiavoed.
