(CNSNews.com) - Rep. Michele Bachmann (R.-Minn.), who leads the Tea Party Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives and who is considering running for president in 2012, expressed adamant opposition to the spending deal agreed to late Friday night by House Speaker John Boehner (R.-Ohio), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) and President Barack Obama.
Make no mistake: I oppose this negotiated deal, Bachmann said in a Twitter message sent out at about 11:00 am on Saturday. It does not: Cut enough spending, stop funding Planned Parenthood, or defund Obamacare.
Bachmann also expressed her opposition to the deal in a statement put out in a press release.
The deal that was reached tonight is a disappointment for me and for millions of Americans who expected $100 billion in cuts, who wanted to make sure their tax dollars stopped flowing to the nations largest abortion provider, and who wanted us to defund ObamaCare, Bachmann said in the statement. Instead, weve been asked to settle for $39 billion in cuts, even as we continue to fund Planned Parenthood and the implementation of ObamaCare. Sadly, were missing the mandate given us by voters last November, and for that reason I voted against the Continuing Resolution.
In a vote held at 12:40 am Saturday, the House approved the first phase of the Boehner-Obama spending deal, a measure to fund the government through Thursday, when a bill to fund the government for the remainder of the fiscal year will come up for a vote.
The short-term measure was approved 348-70 in the early Saturday morning vote. Twenty-eight Republicans voted against it, including Bachmann.
She's right. Not much gained here. Apparently we'll need a revolution to take a meat axe to the monster that is devouring us.
If the true right wins 2012 we'll avoid looking like Madrid in 1936.
No extraneous government agencies which would include most of them.
Better to have shut this enormous beast down than to allow it to continue on with its plan to raise taxes. Kill the beast before it kills the country.
Didn’t she say a few days ago to make a deal?
Well, I saw Tea Party favorite and a favoritet of mine, Lt. Col. Allen West, on Fox this morning and he pretty much said what I said. Use Alinsky tactics. Take the victory, take the cuts, and come back tomorrow for more. And more. And more. He thought it was a good start-—but it does have to be a start, not an end.
Democrat intentions are always to sidestep any real effort at avoiding catastrophe as they revert to their standard tactics of instilling fear and panic among Americans. Indeed, this is their primary method of preserving their current hold on power.
C’mon America: give us candidates with watermellon sized gonads who have no connection to internationalist cabals and only see America and its true interests: re-development of industry and the decimation of the Central Socialist Government; closing down of our borders and the eviction of the United Nations. Spurning any foreign arms treaties and allowing that part of the world who hates us go to hell. Stop thowing Chinese money around, cut Congressional staffs to ribbons and do everything possible to make elected service a part-time job.
We can then concentrate on taking an axe to the state government apparatus.
No she said, the deal was chicken feed. Which is basically whats rush said as well.
Ross Perot in a bra?
I see this deal as a bad joke. If Boehner can be intimidated when the stakes are small potatoes, why should anyone believe that he will stand firm on epic issues. THIS was relatively easy, IMO. Bob
But, but, but, I was told by the effete elite that all the Tea Party people were behind Boehners folly.....
It appears that it must be common belief since this is not the first time Michele Bachmann has gone to the media to assure everyone she opposed this negotiated deal. Otherwise she would not have to come out to reassure the public of something that really should be obvious.
She’d best do so rethinking about what she plans for our Military Veterans. Because it has cost her my vote. Rolling Veterans care into Medicare is rationing their health care, especially our Disabled Vets. Military should be kept separated, from civilian systems.
Bachmann Takes Heat From Veterans’ Group for Proposing Benefits Cuts

If memory serves, MB did say to strike a deal now because, since it was about such a relatively small amount of money,it's best to (paraphrasing) save their energy for the much larger fight down the road.
The wisdom of doing that is debatable, but that was her opinion.
Here is the question: if they’re unwilling to keep their commitment on the $100 billion November promise, is there any reason to think they won’t cave when the stakes are higher? Are we to think that the House Leaders are somehow gonna gut more intestinal fortitude when EVERYTHING is on the table? They’re gonna get TOUGHER and MORE uncompromising when Entitlements are on the line? The new Freshman Tea Party Republicans have to be soured and dismayed. They seriously wanted to change the way things work. Only to find that the career Republicans like Boehner, Cantor, and anyone who was or is a “Dubya” Progressive Republican are telling them to check their idealism and revolutionary ideas at the door to “Flyover Country”. This fight is going to be a lot worse than we thought - mostly because of the Republicans who aspire to make a life long “career” at Government, Inc.
WEll we will find out in a few weeks if the GOP is serious about the Nov election or not. The Debt Ceiling and the 2012 budget are going to tell the tale. If they cave on that we are really going to be in trouble.
Normally, I am not a single issue voter, however, like you she will loose any chance at my vote by tampering with VA benefits.

Michele Bachmann is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN unlike Comrade Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama.
That was a no brain-er. How sickening it is to see Dingy & Cry Baby strut out with this bag of crap.
The new speaker is as big a joke as the last.
It might have gone better for her position if she hadn’t implied the whole thing was a distraction from the real budget fight.
