PETITION TO 2011 MN LEGISLATURE & GOVERNOR DAYTON: Oppose the Health Insurance Exchange
Citizens' Council for Health Freedom ^ | 4-11-11 | Twila Brase

Posted on 04/12/2011 7:34:50 AM PDT by WOBBLY BOB

I, the undersigned citizen oppose HF 497 (Gottwalt-R), HF 1204 (Murphy-D), and SF 917 (Berglin-D) because the bills would establish an Obamacare Health Insurance Exchange which will: Enact federal 'command and control' structure in Minnesota.

Create 'Lynchpin' of Obamacare.

Establish an IRS 'Policeman' for Insurance Mandate.

Embed a 'Defacto' Federal Exchange into Minnesota.

Establish a Permanent Exchange in Minnesota even if Obamacare is Repealed or Ruled Unconstitutional.

Minnesota and Vermont seem to be in a race to get to the next stage of Obamacare (forcing private insurance companies out of the market)

GOP Reps. Mark Buesgens (Jordan), Tom Hackbarth (Cedar) and Bruce Vogel (Willmar) are the only ones to vote no.

“Health Disparities”: The day of the vote, CCHF emailed a letter to Republicans explaining six concerns with the bill, including “health disparities.” This is a liberal strategy to secure universal health care (”health equity”). Proponents blame “health disparities” on race, ethnicity, culture, gender, age, environment, sexual preference, language, etc.

Spending at “Stimulus” Levels: Both House and Senate HHS bills fail to return health care spending to pre-stimulus spending. The 2009 federal “stimulus” bill increased state health and human services spending by $1.6 million. Those stimulus funds are gone. Yet both House and Senate “backfill” the hole with increased state taxpayer spending rather than returning to pre-stimulus levels. This $1.6 million expansion follows President’s Obama’s “stimulus” strategy for expanding government entitlement programs.

Having to use the word “governor” in the same sentence as “Dayton” is as bad as when we had the wrestler.

The problem with the health care exchanges, as I understand it, is that Obamacare has hit the states with a damned if you do, damned if you don't option. If the governor and legislature refuse to create the health care exchange, Obamacare gives DHHR the power to go in and create one completely outside the states control. So even the most conservative Governors seemed resigned to create an exchange so, at least, they can have some input in what it looks like. That's another reason Obamacare needs repealed outright.
