He claims a lot of things, I still can’t trust him.
Me neither. Especially with his talk about a likely 3rd party run if he doesn't get the GOP nomination. Sounded like an attempt at an offer the GOP "can't refuse."
I'm amazed at how many FReepers are willing to overlook the fact Trump's politics slant to the liberal side. I'm not buying his convenient "political conversion" crap.
I'm all for his stirring up dust about 0bama's BC, ties with Rezko, possible muslim birth, etc... but it doesn't "earn" him a nomination. He has a rather spotty background for which he's going to have to address and I don't think a GOP nominee Trump would have the temperament for the grilling he'd get in the run-up to the election. Damn well bet the media will work some massive opposition research on him, only to hold back until he's nominated. Once the convention comes and goes, they'll launch their attacks. With his ego, do we really think he's going to be circumspect in his dealings with them? He also talks a lot of smack about slapping a 25% tariff on Chinese goods. Does he think the Chinese won't respond in kind? They own a good portion of our debt. As such, they have some bargaining chips in play.
Obviously Trump is looking for a hobby. Why doesn't he just go buy a Senate seat somewhere in 2012 and make one out of that instead?
