Right now the GOP is a total snarling mess. Politico is very good at what they do.

If I remember the context of Palin's comment about Russia, it was just a folksy anecdote that whereas most Americans think of Russia as far off, as being half-way around the world, there are actually places in the Alaskan Aleutians where you can look across the sea and see Russia. She never claimed she could see Russia from her house. So I'm not sure why Beck is suggesting she doesn't know where Russia is.

Where Plain fluffed up on the comment about Russia was that it got twisted into her saying that that constituted foreign policy experience. She left herself vulnerable to that accusation because her comment came in the context of a question about foreign policy experience. She should have said, "No I don't have foreign policy experience, but neither have most governors who ran for president. And neither does Barack Obama."

I listened to this part of the show yesterday. He pretty much reiterated the general talking points that she is not focused enough on policy. I am not convinced on this point, as she has a clear set of beliefs, and stand boldly on those ideas. I have her book, but have not finished it. I have heard some say it is light on policy, and others say it has a good amount. I actually agree that she should have put a serious policy book out as a second book, if she was positioning a run in 2012. It doesn’t seem to be that, and actually less so than the first.

I am open to Palin, and think she probably will run circles around the existing GOP candidates if she does run...I am not convinced she could beat Obama, but I am not sure who would. Events will drive that, and if gas is $5 a gallon and unemployment is not truly improved, I think anyone could beat him.

I think Sarah knows she can do more good as kingmaker than as President.
She might, or might now win either the nomination or the office. Particularly in 2012;But in providing fundraising and publicity she can influence the direction of the party and the country. And she would put both before herself.

and, perhaps, she *doesn't* want to own what's coming 2012-2016; better to let the Democrats take the blame.

Maybe I'm wrong, but her moves look much more like either playing kingmaker to ensure that a true conservative wins the nomination in 2012 or running in 2016.

Beck is digging a hole for himself as a “conservative” radio talk host.

If Palin wins or Trump wins (or anybody else he talks down to) how will he be able to seriously carry their water on the radio when it’s one of them against Obama.

I guess he’ll be a sub for Coast To Coast sometime soon

As dangerous as he claims Obama is (and we know he is dangerous)... if Palin wins how can Beck be taken serious when he tries to pull for her in the general election?

And will he have credibility with his republican listeners?

Nope. Best he starts looking to be a sub on coast to coast

I stopped listening to him a long time ago

There is but one thing wrong with Palin as far as Beck is concerned. She is not Mormon.

Don’t anyone think for one second that Mormons do not stick together on virtually everything.

Now don’t jump on me for saying what I am saying here. I have many Mormon fiends and have had them for over 50 years. I just know how they manage their lives.

“There are some things about Sarah Palin,” he said, going on to suggest Palin made a mistake by selling her personal story in her first book after leaving the governor’s office, rather than demonstrating some policy credentials.

How Ronald Reagan Showed America That He Should Be President of the United States:

From 1975 to 1979 Ronald Reagan gave more than 1,000 daily radio broadcasts, the great majority of which he wrote himself. .... These addresses .... revise our understanding of the late 1970s - a time when Reagan held no political office, but was nonetheless mapping out a strategy to transform the economy, end the Cold War, and create a vision of America that would propel him to the presidency. These radio programs demonstrate that Reagan had carefully considered nearly every issue he would face as president.

In Alaska did she think she could more good as a kingmaker than as Governor?

___________

I’ve never heard Beck ever say anything at all about Romney and when he speaks about Palin, he seems to have a personal relationship with her. I’ve never gotten the vibe he was anti-Palin, or pro-Romney.

Beck, in his recent chat with B. O., did not say that he is leaving Fox, breaking his ties with Fox. Actually, I heard quite the opposite, but possibly I dozed off for a moment.

I don’t listen to Beck much. He seems to be solely for himself and his ratings. His positions on issues and other personalities seem totally designed to benefit himself. Does he have any core principle? He’s very much like an Alinsky organizer in that lack of any goal or principle beyond power to himself.

You are not convinced that Sarah Palin can beat Obama?

Besides her ulta-toxic poll numbers that are lower than whale scat at the bottom of the ocean, what on Earth makes you say that?

FOX News Poll (February 7-9, 2011)

Question 3: I am going to read you a list of names. Tell me if you think that person would make a good President or not.

Sarah Palin:

.................YES.........NO.......DK.....Never heard of

ALL...........23%.......72%.........4%.......1%

Dem ...........7%........87%........5%.......1%

Rep ...........40%.......56%.......3%.......1%

Ind ...........25%........69%.......3%.......1%

I for one am sick and tired of hearing about how Sarah Palin’s book are so dumb. They are not meant to be policy books, I took them as a biographical account of her life thrown in with a few ancetodtes about policy. I remember my Liberaltarian brother sitting on the couch skimming through her book and laughing. Then running upsatairs to tell my other brother how stupid she was based on a few excerpts. Sarah Palin is not dumb, and she has accomplished more than the liberals that criticize her ever will. I am getting so tired of the Palin is stupid playcard because what they are really saying is that all of us who support her are dumb. I am so sick and tired of it, and it’s really disapointing to see Beck take on some O’Reillyesque tendecies on the issues.
