What this exposes is the partisanship that is practiced to the exclusion of all else; opposing everything when the president is a Republican, and vice versa with a Democrat president. No principles, no core beliefs and absolutely no regard for the welfare of the nation.

I was just reading a book about George Washington and how the people at the time did not want to establish political parties, just for this reason.

You force an entire nation of millions of individuals, into choosing only A or B.

Then When A or B gets in charge they act only for the benefit of electing more of A or B.

Hamilton was a bastard at all this- he wanted hereditary leadership to be inherited by your children too.
