Exclusive: Trump to Announce His Run for President
Newsmax ^ | April 12, 2011 | Ronald Kessler

Posted on 04/13/2011 6:28:02 PM PDT by RobinMasters

If you wonder whether Donald Trump is serious about running for president, tune in to the finale of “The Celebrity Apprentice” on May 15.

Trump plans to say on the NBC show that he will be holding a press conference in the next few days. At that press conference in the Trump Tower in New York, Trump will be announcing his candidacy for the presidency.

Even then, many will snicker that it’s all a publicity stunt. But that defies the facts and common sense.

Of all the people on the planet, Donald Trump is the last person who needs more publicity. And if he is riding a groundswell of support, why would he—or anyone else—decide not to run?

Since writing the first story in January to report that Trump will definitely run, I have been amazed at how much the idea of a Trump presidency is catching on across the political spectrum. As I wrote in my story, Don’t Underestimate Donald Trump for President, he can be outrageous and boastful. But when it comes to a successful run at the presidency, don’t count him out.

No, I see it as a veiled threat: nominate me or else. How is that any different than the MSM pushing a candidate?

I swear, this is making freepers look desperate. How anyone would consider a UN loving gun grabber to be the GOP nominee is beyond me.

Kudos to Trump for bringing up the BC. But that does not mean he should be President. Period.

If Trump did not have the eligibility issue he'd be in NYC and not heading to Florida to a Tea Party rally.

Only Boehner and Congress have the power to pull this issue from Trump by making Obama prove his eligibility. After he does that, Trumps without an issue.

What if the following is true?

"The DPH is the Democrat Party authority in Hawaii in charge of requesting, reviewing and verifying the legal qualifications of a candidate's eligibility for inclusion on the Hawaiian ballot, in compliance with state and Constitutional election laws. Ultimately, the DPH's rejection of Obama was due to a refusal by Obama to make available the original documented evidence confirming his eligibility. However, this justifiable lack of certification by the DPH was followed by a covert attempt by the Democratic National Committee, chaired by Nancy Pelosi, to artificially proclaim Obama eligible in Hawaii by submitting two separate, sworn Official Certifications of Nomination (OCON) for Obama..."

They'd hang Bush or Reagan for something like this. It's up to the US Congress as to whether or not they conform to the US Constitution.

1. I’m old enough to recall all the enthusiasm over Ross Perot too. All RP did in the end was split the Republican vote and allow Clinton to win. Trump running has that same kind of feel.

I'm old enough too. This does have the same feel, but there's a sense of urgency now that didn't exist in 1992. The country is in a whole lot more trouble right now than it was that year, and many more people are fed up with politics as usual.

Perot had a shot at winning, but his campaign was mismanaged. Remember when he dropped out, and then got back in? Remind you of McCain's "suspended campaign" just a bit?

The excitement that Perot generated drew millions of new or otherwise apathetic voters into the process, voters who wouldn't have voted at all if it had just been Bush v. Clinton. Even if you assume that every vote that Perot got would have gone either to Bush or Clinton, he still would have needed to take about 65% of his votes from Bush to hand the election to Clinton, and exit polling indicated that he took votes equally from both.

Clinton won not because of Perot, but because Bush was a poor candidate carrying the baggage of the "read my lips" debacle. Bush only won the first time because of the popularity of Reagan.

Slick Willie Clinton was young and unknown, and was a master of the game of politics. "Change" voters were split between Clinton and Perot. In 2012, many of those "change" voters will have realized the mistake that they made with Obama, and will not vote for more of the same.

I don't see myself supporting Trump in the primary (but even that's hard to say without knowing who else will run), and I really hope that he doesn't go third party, but I will vote for him if he is the Republican nominee because nothing will convince me that he could be any worse than Obama.

IMHO he really really hates Soros-I bet Soros is costing him money somewhere in billionaire land, plus Donald really does love this capitalistic USA...I think it’s a match between the two of them, it’s just that Soros has to hide in the dark like a roach and Donald is able to bask in the sun...

It’s a “Celebrity Death Match” and Trump isn’t just in it to play, he’s in it to win...and defeat Soros.

That’s my 2 cents, which is more like a penny today..but it still counts for something!

You said a mouthful.

Boehner is bringing out the beast in Tea Partiers and regular Republicans alike.

People are starved for a leader who refuses to be rolled.

How about that Boehner will simply push for a balanced budget?

He is failing miserably.

I have to wonder how many of these posters who are doing the RINO number on Trump are actually Romney-bots?

Pot calling the kettle black?

I suspect they are.

It’s not like the nomination will be “awarded” in a backroom deal. Trump or anybody else has to go out and pile up delegates in the primaries.

I would not consider this enthusiasm over Trump. Not yet, at least.

Personally, for me. I would LOVE for Obama to release all of his records and nothing be wrong. That would not only suck the air out of Trump's balloon but we would also be able to focus on the other issues that are NOT on Obama's side: oil, jobs, gas prices, Libya... and so many more.

I would consider it enthusiasm over the US Constitution.

If you want Trump to go away, it's up to the Republican controlled Congress to demand that Obama prove his eligibility to the many American people who doubt and want to know for sure that their President is eligible to hold the highest office in the land.

To think this is enthusiasm over Trump is missing the point. If it were Sarah Palin demanding and doing it as loudly as Trump... it would have been Sarah Palin at the top and Donald near the bottom. Until you can know what the enthusiasm's over there will be no way to stop Trump.

Eventually, the longer he campaigns and grows on his supporters the harder it will be to get rid of him.

The buck stops at Boehner.

2. I bet that Trump has all kinds of skeletons in his closet

I think Obama, having sealed his closet muslim, Marxist, alien, homosexual background, has rendered that irrelevant.

When faced with an existential threat, who gives a d@mn about a little dirt.

The buck stops at Boehner.

And the buck will go right in his pocket like it does with just about every politician out there.

You must be joking.

The entire frikken country is desperate. If Obama isn't beaten and removed, this country is toast!

If he does that then we’re lost. Perot did us no favors. He changed nothing. He brought in CLinton.

If Trump plans to run as an independent then it’s over...unless they can declare Obama ineligible to run for the presidency....

But who else is out there that has the courage to say and do what needs to be done....

An independent stands no chance to win, and if by chance they were to win, they cannot lead....the opposition would be across both aisles.
