After initially drawing praise for extracting spending concessions while averting a government shutdown, Speaker John Boehner now finds himself on the defense against conservatives who feel they were duped regarding the amount of cuts the bill would entail. It began with a trickle. While most conservatives initially appeared satisfied with the deal Boehner struck, a few leaders, such as Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.), signaled early that they might oppose the deal. Pence, for example, told Fox News he would probably vote against the budget deal, but added that Speaker Boehner “got a good deal”. A few others, like Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, flatly said they would vote against it.

I’ll believe it if it fails. In the meantime, back to the regularly scheduled kabuki theatre and agitprop.

Congress is supposed to be the representative of the people. The people are disappointed. What happens to the avid dedication expressed by a candidate that the minute he breathes the air in D.C. he succumbs to dishrag consistency?

Um, that's Allen West, although Batman might do a better job than Boehner. He's knows how to deal with Jokers like Obama! ;)

I agree. Boehner needs to go for being STUPID..remember, if not for the 3 day period to READ THE BILL..this would have past..Boehner obviously did not tell the caucus what was in the bill...duplicity..or he was to dumb to know what his staff agreed to..incompetence..

... back to the regularly scheduled kabuki theatre ... That sounds like the gist of it to me. The bulk of these 'leaders' in Congress sold their principles and consciences years ago. They support large government (from which they derive their power), but if they need to shed alligator tears, or get a case of the vapors, to show the 'little people' back home that they really care about fixing the Country (which starts with 'right-sizing' the Government) they'll do it -- but in the end, the budget and Government will continue to grow.
There are a few principle players - but its often hard to identify them because they are surrounded by a bunch of frauds who will mouth the right words when it doesn't count.

This is a Feudal style govt. Ruling Lords, and serving serfs.
In the Punch and Judy govt theatre, somebody has to be Judy. IE the pubs.
As long as they play along, they will RULE!
