Raising the debt ceiling WOULD NOT cause us to default on our debt. The federal Gov’t confiscates more than enough income each month to make the interest payments on the federal debt. It would, however, force them to eliminate other spending. Republicans SHOULD NOT vote to raise the debt limit without major spending cuts if they are serious about cutting spending and balancing the budget. This will force the budget to be balanced.

While I am very unhappy with the way Boehner acted on the just passed CR..given the number of votes he lost in his own caucus..he has painted himself into a corner...he said that a debt ceilign won’t pass without “something really, really big” about spending cuts attached to it...we’ll find out soon just how big, “big” actually is...

Bingo! Everyone knows that the only way to break an addiction to credit cards is cut them up. That’s what refusing to raise the debt ceiling is doing: cutting up the credit cards and forcing us to make the hard decisions that need to be made. No pain, no gain. It’s time to grit our teeth and bear it, however hard that is. My wife has been out of work for almost a year, and I still believe that’s what we have to do.
