Pentagon: Mexican Drug Cartels Threaten Entire U.S.
Judicial Watch ^ | April 14, 2011

Posted on 04/14/2011 12:09:42 PM PDT by jazusamo

Should Americans believe Janet Napolitano’s rosy picture of a U.S.-Mexico border that’s “as secure as it has ever been” or a Pentagon assessment that it’s actually a gateway for Mexican criminal organizations that have infiltrated the entire country and joined forces with terrorist groups?

For months the nation’s Homeland Security Secretary has repeatedly insisted that everything is hunky dory on the southwest border, even as violence escalates and overwhelmed federal agents are increasingly attacked by heavily armed drug smugglers. Just last month Napolitano declared that violence along the Mexican border is merely a mistaken “perception” because the area is safe and “open for business.” Furthermore, Madame Secretary assured that “some of America’s safest communities are in the Southwest border region….”

A top Pentagon official contradicts that fairytale assessment, pointing out that Mexican criminal organizations extend well beyond the southwest border to cities across the country, including big ones like Atlanta, Chicago and Detroit. Addressing a U.S. Senate hearing this week, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Counternarcotics and Global Threats William Wechsler warned lawmakers that all their constituencies are confronted by the threat of Mexican drug cartels.

Even more alarming is that, once in the United States, Wechsler says the Mexican criminal groups are becoming more dangerous by forming networks with each other and insurgent or terrorist groups. In some regions the “threat networking” not only engages in drug trafficking but kidnapping, armed robbery, extortion and other serious crimes.

The threat is so great that the assistant Defense Secretary offered federal legislators military assistance in the name of protecting national security. “Many of the global and regional terrorists who threaten interests of the United States finance their activities with proceeds from narcotics trafficking,” Wechsler reminded, adding that “extremist and international criminal networks frequently exploit local geographical, political or social conditions to establish safe havens from which they can operate with impunity.”

I don't think it would be the Mex govt. because the area they want to take back is shown on a lot of maps these idiots have drawn up, as a completely separate country from Mexico and in a lot of cases part of Mexico is included in the area they have included in this new country.

It was only speculation on my part. However, being familiar with Mexican corruption and desire for revenge a not unwarranted speculation. Especially when coupled with the increasing rot among our own political class.

No your speculation wasn't unwarranted because some of the maps that have been drawn up show the entire area as being part of Mexico.

Northern Mexicans hate the southern Mexicans, it's tribal and goes back thousands of years, and they want the tribal areas to be separate.

It's to the northern Mexicans advantage not to advertise their true intent, that way they can use the southern Mexicans as their useful idiots.

This is true. They look the other way and do not enforce the current laws.

It's all about money.

Obama said one of his campaign goals would be Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

Still wonder why the border is a sieve?

And fo all those who figure this about dollars for law enforcement agencies...you are entirely correct.

Here in Texas we've only been saying this for 20 some odd years.

So...what's it gonna take?

I’m living in Bush Alaska, which is about as far away as you can get from Mexico and still be in North America. I also teach high school kids, many of whom chatter mindlessly and some of whom lead less than savory lifestyles.

According to the troubled kids, there are Mexican gangs and associates operating in Fairbanks and Anchorage - and spreading drugs out into the villages. That $40 gram of weed in Nowhere, Alaska, has come through a pipeline starting south of the border.

If that’s true up here, I can only imagine that influence the same gangs have in places like Boise and Denver, which are just a drive down the Interstate.

I hear you and don't know. In the 19th century horse and cattle thieves didn't fare well, maybe something along those lines.

Thanks for relating that, not too surprising I guess.

It’s been like that for decades in OR and WA, both home grown and imported.

We’ve got enough problem with Kalifornia, and other states infested with illegal narco-terrorists. You sure you want to annex the mother country?

I’d like to see the border state Governors call up their National Guard and arm them with live ammunition this time.

ANOTHER OBAMA-FUNDED NATIONAL SECURITY NIGHTMARE Ohaha's on all fours, all puckered up, facilitating drug cartels and massive invasions of illegals---sucking-up to get votes.

===========================================

WHAT IS THE MERIDA INITIATIVE? The US Congress passed legislation in late June 2008 to provide Mexico with $400 million and Central American countries with $65 million that year for the Mérida Initiative---to fight drug wars. The initiative was announced 22 Oct 2007 and signed into law June 30, 2008.

THE FACTS ARE THESE : Mexico is calculatedly staging the "war on drugs" ------- with a hidden agenda------to wage war against the United States USING OUR TAX DOLLARS. Mexico has infiltrated the US political system, from domestic to foreign policy, AND US L/E, using deceit and guile. The mexican govt is sending millions of Reconquista shock troops over the border (illegal aliens) cueing them in WRT taking the US system.

==========================================

Central America and Mexico are conning the US -----extorting US tax dollars to support Marxist/terrorist movement via the Merida Initiative----a despicable con to arm its police and military using US tax dollars to protect terrorists and drug cartels who are moving across the border into the US.

============================================

Clearly, the Mexican govt is fomenting drug violence in order to: (1) get billions of dollars in US assistance, and, (2) to help their populations flee over the border claiming they are victims of violence and need "asylum." Asylum claims gets illegals thousands of dollars in SS funds.

Mexican Federales are getting rich using some familiar strategies:

(1) plotting to become a ward of the US;

(2) faking victimization;

(3) secretly revving up internal conflicts;

(4) play-acting the ignoramus;

(5) claiming they can't "control" their enemies without US money;

(6) organizing voting blocs----exchanging votes for US cash.

ACTION NOW---Stop all funding for this con game. Tell your reps to stop funding the anti-American Merida Initiative now.
