What in tarnation does that line mean?
True, Martin Luther was from Germany. And Zwingli was from Switzerland ... And so on. But there was no Germany during the Reformation. It basically split between different 'States' that were either Roman Catholic or Protestant. They didn't become a unified nation until Bismark - nearly 300 years later. And I doubt they deemed themselves a 'Protestant Nation' at that time.
And by the way, Hitler was a member of the Roman Catholic church, not the Lutherans. That being said, Hitler had no faith in Christ - be it Roman Catholic or Protestant. His faith was in his concept of a master race, or some pagan worship of the old Teutonic gods...
If you're looking for the first 'Protestant' Nation, that would probably be England. And the United States certainly was established by people that were predominantly 'Protestant'...
Whatever. It seems like the author had an axe to grind by calling the "first Protestant Nation" - Nazi Germany. Kind of distract from whatever message he was pitching.
Having a membership at Fox, I took a couple of your points and posted them in the comments. I hope you don’t mind. I also added some of my own. You do good work...
