MADISON, Wis (Reuters) - Officials in Wisconsin's largest county said on Thursday they would meet the deadline for finishing their review of the local vote in last week's state Supreme Court race, an election widely seen as a referendum on Republican efforts to curb public sector unions.
The end of the county reviews would set the stage for either candidate in the closely watched contest to demand a recount

Tons of fraud being reported already. Plus the elections board tol the Milwaukee police dept to “stand down” when they were supposed to watch the “locked up” ballots.
So, let me get this straight. A 200+ vote margin is enough for the Dem to give her victory speech but a 7,000+ vote margin is grounds for a recount??? DON’T LET THE DEMS STEAL THIS ONE WISCONSIN!
Democrats hold their best place too add votes to canvass the votes they need.
It’s going to take a lot to overcome Prosser’s 7000 vote lead.
Why is there a recount in Milwaukee County?
Can you give specifics? Not that I doubt it, but was wondering what other "irregularities" came to light.
I head a local radio report today (Charlie Sykes show) and the ONLY republican on the election board(?) - I think that’s what it’s called - said that he asked the city police to guard the ballots which are stored in a warehouse. The rest of the panel went nuts and told the cops to go away. Fortunately the county cops thought it was important enough to guard the votes.
Not a recount; just the initial vote canvas (count verification) and certification. They're just a little late in reporting the results of last week's election, for some reason.
Nothing's been "recounted" yet.
All bets down. There will be found 10,000 votes that were misplaced; 9,000 will be for the Democrat and 1,000 write in ballots for various named individuals. Prosser will receive two.
Hmmm...sounds suspicious.
I’m from the State of Washington. King County, where Seattle is located, always does this in order to manufacture Democratic votes. Fraud here has been ongoing for quite some time.
Another waste of taxpayer money and its April 15.
The lead is pretty much insurmountable. The whole effort now is to keep the troops salivating until the upcoming recall elections and on to 2012.
I heard a report that Dave Clark stepped in right after that. The ballots were locked in a warehouse with minimal security and the Milwaukee police were told to go away by the county election board but the sheriff dept stepped in.
Most populous county; not largest in area; that would be Marathon.
Also, Milwaukee very liberal, which made it amazing, to me, that conservative Walker (now Governor) was twice elected County Executive.
The vote isn’t cloe enough for a recount? Are the dems paying for one or something?
The vote isn’t close enough for a recount? Are the dems paying for one or something?
The Milwaukee County Sheriff took over watching the ballots
No such thing as a deadline anymore. Judges brush them off every time.
