Plenty willing to see Trump 'sideshow'

Donald Trump is the hottest thing around.

He may be a flash in the pan, but he certainly has stirred things up in the early race among the growing number of Republican candidates for president, all of whom who believe President Barack Obama can be beaten.

Indicative of Trump's attractiveness as a candidate is his surge in the public-opinion polls following a round of television interviews in which he laid out bold, although less-than-specific, options to the ways and means that Obama is, or is not, running things. Trump is right behind longtime presidential campaigner Mitt Romney in an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, and tied for second place with Mike Huckabee.

DONALD TRUMP:
I am saying I want to see the birth certificate. It’s very simple. I want to see the birth certificate. How come his own family doesn’t know which hospital he was born in? How come– forget about birth certificates. Let’s say there’s no birth certificate. How come in the hospital itself, okay? This is one of the…in the hospital itself, there’s no records of his birth. In other words, it doesn’t say how much they paid, where is the doctor, here’s your room bill. You know, all the...

MEREDITH VIEIRA:
You’ve been privy to all of this to know this?

DONALD TRUMP:
Well, I have people that actually have been studying it and they cannot believe what they’re talking.

MEREDITH VIEIRA:
You have people now out there searching– I mean, in Hawaii?

DONALD TRUMP:
Absolutely. And they cannot believe what they’re finding. And I’m serious–

You cannot even get a drivers license or marriage license with the certification of live birth Hussein presented.

Here is the difference:

I don't know about anyone else but I'm getting tired of Donald Trump. I do not believe he is a 'serious' candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination and the possibility of Trump 'going independent' worries me. Yes, he said he knows that would guarantee an Obama victory so he wouldn't do it...with the caveat "unless I thought I could win", meaning, unless he didn't think the actual GOP presidential nominee could win. Very subjective and, as I see it, a threat to the Republican party to nominate someone who meets Trumps approval. Because Donald Trump is a liberal New York Republican I'm concerned that he would view someone like, oh, say, Sarah Palin as 'unelectable' and so, in his view, justify Trump running for president as an independent, splitting the Republican vote and handing the election to Obama. That happens and we're totally screwed. If Obama was bad in his first four years, imagine how he would be knowing he can't run again and has only four more years to finish destroying America as we know and love it. Yes, Trump is bold. He takes the fight to Obama and that is refreshing but he could be dangerous in the long run and, frankly, I don't trust him and his newly unveiled conservatism. I hope Trump is just showboating but if he's serious, the GOP (and all of us) may have a problem.

He's definitely fun to watch. Why, I don't know. Because he's not cowed by PC, the MSM labeling, name-calling, diversionary tactics (latest is "conspiracy). He blows it off and just keeps going. What a breath of fresh air.

Does he have to right on the economy? No, Palin beats him on that. But it does me good to see him go after Obama on legitimate Constitutional issues and credibility issues.

If Trump announces before June as he said on Rush this afternoon, I wouldn’t be surprised if he also announces his running mate!

He may be a flash in the pan...

I wonder if this writer knows that he is using gun talk here. The phrase came from the flash of powder in the pan of a flintlock when it went off but failed to fire the main charge.

Donald Trump has shot to the top of the Republican field in a new poll released Friday, buoyed in part by a wave of GOP voters with questions about President Obama's birth certificate. Some 26 percent of Republican primary voters nationwide said they planned to vote for Trump -- who has not yet publicly declared his candidacy -- compared to 17 percent for second-place finisher Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney garnered 15 percent support and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was fourth with 11 percent, according to the survey from Democratic-aligned firm Public Policy Polling (PPP).

“but if he’s serious, the GOP (and all of us) may have a problem.”

Hell we’ve got problems anyway. I hope he does run at least we can have some fun. I’d rather have Trump than say, Romney, Huck, McCain... I’d definitely vote for a Trump/Bachmann or Trump/Palin ticket.

Yes, he will get up close and personal. Un like the last pubbie that wouldn’t use his full name. Also some thing is wrong when Gasoline is more expensive at $110/bbl than under the hated “what’s his name”
when oil was $14-/bbl?

Trump To Headline Tea Party Rally Saturday

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Donald Trump says he's getting more serious about his run for the presidency in 2012. The real estate mogul will be the keynote speaker at at the third annual Tax Day Tea Party Rally on Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 1:00-2:30 pm in Sanborn Square in Boca Raton.

According to South Florida Tea Party Chairman Everett Wilkinson, Trump leads every Tea Party poll as a favorite presidential candidate for 2012. Trump is expected to talk about his thoughts on how to get the country moving again, and the need for further tax reduction. Worth more than $2.7 billion, Trump is known worldwide as a successful businessman, and also for his participation in the reality hit tv show "The Apprentice," which is going on its 11th season.
