Obama approval now down to 41 percent: Gallup
Reuters ^ | April 16, 2011 | by James Pethokoukis

~ EXCERPT ~

Gallup has Obama’s approval ratings down to 41 percent (with 50 percent disapproving) and just 35 percent among independents. Ratings like this put an incumbent president deep in the red as far as reelection.  They just don’t get reelected with ratings under 48 percent —  and only a 1/3 chance with a rating of 45 percent.

If they don’t get reelected when they’re lower than 48%, then how do they have a 1/3 chance at 45%? Doesn’t make sense.

“just 35 percent among independents”

Another poll had 31 of independents “strongly approving”. It seems to me that a sizeable quantity of that 31% of independents aren’t independents at all.

If the price of gas continues to climb, Barry might want to start applying for a fries guy jobs immediately. You’re average voter isn’t smart enough to figure out the big things like the budge or national debt but they do know how to read the meters on fuel pumps. That crap is out of control. Gas should not cost this much.

Prior to 2008 they didn't get elected without vetting by the press or qualifications, either.

As long a Progressivism holds sway on the media, which determines precisely what millions of Americans think and feel, reality will remain suspended.

Well this “untouchable” white cracker-American never cared for his brand of politics, and now I see my side is getting more crowded by the day.

He should be down in the 10 if it were not for the freeloaders. They will always support King Obama as long as he hands out our hard earned tax money to feed them with riches.

Other than Colin Powell, who are the 14% of Republicans that actually approve of the job Obama is doing. I would think even the RINOs have abandoned him

If this country was stupid enough to ever elect something like that in the first place, it’s a bad sign.

“Good grief, while important this has been posted at least a half dozen times.”

You are correct.

In another area, what I find interesting is he has been at 41 percent forever...for many, many months, but it is always reported as something new.

As long as he’s got the dollar in the crapper, oil prices will remain high.

Yup! I don’t see that changing anytime soon. The ‘RATS have shifted into their “scare the hell out of ‘em” mode. It appears they’ve figured out that they are in big trouble. They’ve started scaring the seniors again. That’s always their first tactic when they run out of ideas.

This poll, the contents which or similar no doubt were in Obama's hands sometime ago, illuminate much of Obama's recent behavior.

When a politician is in this situation in the polls he is unlikely to improve his favorables enough to win an election and that leaves him with only one option: to destroy the favorables of his opponent. That will be done by demagoguery which Obama has clearly embarked upon recently. If the mudslinging can bring the Republican candidate and the Republican congressional candidates down to a rough parity level with Obama and Democratic congressional candidates, the Democrat machine can kick in.

The Democrat machine is a slice and dice operation which stacks up race, ethnic, class, gender, and religious demographics into a formidable pile of the electorate. In other words, Obama will get more than 95% of the African-American vote no matter how much mud sticks to him as he engages in the process of muddying his adversary. To a lesser degree that principle applies to Hispanics, Jews, gays and etc. Obama's bet is that he can so disillusion the independents that the ones who do not stay home because they are confused will stay home because they found the whole process off-putting. If Obama can put the process into that torpor he knows that the Democrat machine will bring him automatically somewhere around 43% to 50% of the vote. If the Republican is as charismatic as Bob Dole or as aggressive as John McCain, or simply puts a foot down somewhere wrong, Obama knows that the media will finish the Republican off for him.

The pundits on television and radio are saying that Obama has gone into campaign mode but he is actually quite consciously commencing a campaign of demagoguery which we can expect to be one of the most repellent in American history.

I told the guys at work that scare tactics are always their last resort.

We saw, “75,000 children will die if the Repubs pass their budget bill” and “Seniors will starve...”

Unfortunately, there is apparently a large segment of the population who believe this crap.

My life-long Republican Mother in law was going to vote for Obama because, “It’s shameful the way this country treats their elderly.” FrogDad quickly asked me to go get him some coffee, he knew I was about to unload.

When we were alone, he knew I was simmering and told me to unload on him, so I did. I told him that his father had died after being in and out of the hospital for 3 years including amputation, medication and a year’s hospice hospitalization and his mother had told me that none of it cost her a dime. She had also gotten free milk, cheese, and pnut butter the whole time.

She was in the hospital at this time, her bill was zero. How, EXACTLY, did she want the country to treat their elderly???

Exactly. The ‘RATS have gone to their weapon of last resort. FEAR. They have begun their campaign to scare the heck out of grandma and grandpa. That is a sign that our side is winning. The commie ‘RATS have run out of ideas on how to stop Americans from taking control of our government and country again.

People don't know the half of it.

The deficit is NOT the debt. The debt is a timebomb waiting to kill us.

The deficit is how much we need to borrow each year.

The debt is the total amount we've borrowed as a nation that remains unpaid.

A conservative estimate of the debt is 14.6 trillion dollars. However, if you add the cost of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid to the obligations the US has to those currently living, you come up with about 60 trillion dollars.

How much is 60 trillion dollars? 6.0 X 1013

The surface area of the earth is approximately 200 million square miles. That means that you need 5000 earths to equal one trillion square miles. You need 73,000 earths to equal 14.6 trillion, the size of the national debt, and you need 300,000 earths to equal the size of one estimate of our national obligations, 60 trillion dollars.

That's mind boggling.

Yesterday, when I awoke to a top-of-the-hour news story about the weather, I knew there was bad news for obama that they were covering up.
