Palin in Madison: Veni, Vidi, Vici
Reuters ^ | April 16, 2011 | by James Pethokoukis

~ EXCERPT ~

Sarah Palin rides to the sound of the guns. It was a chilly, wet and blustery afternoon in Madison, Wisconsin — one more appropriate for a late-season Packers game than a springtime political rally. The stirring NFL Films theme,  “The Classic Battle,” would’ve been a more apt musical choice than Van Halen’s “Right Now” to accompany Palin as she entered the stage outside the state capital building to address thousands of Tea Party members, along with a good number of extremely hostile, expletive-hurling government union rowdies.

palin

In the last few months, political professionals and insiders have been writing off the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate, convinced she won’t run for the GOP nomination in 2012 or ever. Then again, even those GOPers who are running can hardly compete with the MSM’s weird, all-consuming fascination with The Donald.

But all it took was one powerful, pugnacious and presidential speech — just 15 minutes long — for Palin to again make herself completely relevant to the current political and policy battles raging across America.

She waded forcefully into the state’s white-hot battle over government union power, giving her full-throated support to Gov. Scott Walker: “These are the front lines in the battle of the future for our country. A pension is a promise that must be kept. Scott Walker understands this. He understands that states must be solvent to keep their promises. He’s not trying to hurt union members. Hey folks, he’s trying to save your jobs.”

Somewhere tonight Pissant’s neighbors are hearing wailing and the gnashing of teeth (if he still has any to gnash).

She took a little break after visiting with Netanyahu; she has been in prayer and consultation I am sure with her trusted advisors.

No other can fill the void at this point. She is the one to carry the banner.

She didn’t seek it, but the mantle was laid upon her.

Maybe they think it’d be a good idea to make nice with POTUS 45?

James Pethokoukis is the only writer I read there. He's great but his best material is at Twitter, where you're limited to 160 characters per post.

YES! She is awesome! We love you Sarah!

She will look good with a 45 nest to her name after we kick TOTUS out on his ass.

So happy to get back to town tonight and see that Sarah was not harmed and that she did well. I prayed all day for her while riding in the car, Wanting to be where I could maybe see a streaming picture. News wise I was in the dead zone. Praise God she is okay.

(((((NAN)))))

You are pinged to the videos of her awesome speech. Our Lord hears our prayers. He watches over her, so we must keep praying, non-stop. She is brave and tough, while simultaneously fragile in body, and strong and pure in loving and servant’s heart.

She is running, -— “*Game on!*” she said, and it is our solemn duty to see to her election.

Today would have been my cherished Mom’s 101 birthday and Sarah made it most memorable for me. I am thrilled and blessed.

God love Sarah Palin. I do, we do.

I’m exhausted, so good night, dearest you!
Church in the morning. Sweet dreams, peaceful rest, Prayers and Hugs, always!

Not fragile = small, petite. I’m tired.

Who is “Pissant”? That name sounds very familiar. Was he a FR poster?

Except for Cain, maybe, she is the best stump speaker in the field. In this one she comes out punching from the bell, and lands better, I think, than Trump. The message is-as she says—clear: we are broke, but Obama keeps charging on the credit card. Take it away from him.

Just when I started buying into the hype that she is leaning towards NOT running she comes out with this blistering speech. This almost sounded like a campaign kickoff speech. How can she NOT run? Polls be damned, she needs to run.
