Breitbartapolooza! (Andrew Breitbart's Book Signing and Lecture in Manhattan)

Today I had the opportunity to meet one of the kingpins of conservative new media, Andrew Breitbart. In town for a signing of his recently published book, Righteous Indignation, the creator of Big Hollywood , one of numerous Breitbart-inspired websites, delivered an entertaining speech that weaved together his personal narrative of embracing conservative activism with his current fight against the Obama administration and its many devout supporters.

An at times irreverent, always impassioned, largely extemporaneous speech that explored everything from his pretensions of privilege as the child of an earnest middle class family living in Brentwood, California, to his dissolute college years spent in New Orleans-and how the conservative values of his parents restored a sense of purpose to his life-to his infatuation with the new, ever-changing medium of the World Wide Web, to his groundbreaking exposure of the Pigford scandal, Breitbart’s lecture dovetailed with his new book, which chronicles the political and personal transformation he’s undergone over the past two decades.

Breitbart was at the Madison Tea Party yesterday. We loved him. He told the protestors to Go to Hell to resounding cheers. He may be a little “out there” but he’s got all the right stuff.

I know. I met him in person and was like, “WHOA”. this doesn’t come across on TV when we only see him from the chest up.

He discussed that during his talk.

I thought his justification was really well-reasoned.

The fact is that this people are trying to rip the heart out of representative government and suppress free speech.

They should be given no quarter.

I thought one of the best pieces of advice was to speak out exactly what you think, whether on TV or at a party. Going along to get along has had its day.

I started reading the book. It is so hard to believe that California has become such a wacky, crazy state, even worse than NEW YORK if such a thing is possible. We have to reduce their number of electoral votes.

The California problem is hard to address.

I think that demographically it's impossible to pull the state back into any sort of conservative orbit, which is why Proposition 187 was so important, IMO.

I was really hoping that California would finally get rid of Barbara Boxer, who is the dregs of the earth. Jerry Brown? They must be joking!
