I think if conservatives and the Tea party united behind a real conservative, they can win. And that's not Trump.

Is Trump a conservative? Not at all, IMO.
For one, I think he's pretty much in bed with the Clintons.

Maybe he'll start watching television. ROFL
I think most of us got a little tired of "Francie's" preaching.

And the media's latest stunt is trying to make people believe that the Republicans have a "weak field."
The reality is that there are some good conservatives who are eligible and are expressing hints of interest. The media is pulling their stunt in hopes that the GOP nominates somebody like Trump or Romney.
I hope enough people are awake...

It isn't that it is, it's that it was what is isn't is, it is. That it is, is what it is what is it when it is what it never was, wasn't it what it was when it isn't what it will be, is it? Is it what it wasn't to be what is it to be when it isn't being it wasn't what it was.Now I finally know. "Lazamataz" is Bill Clinton.

Of course that's the meme. Trump jumping in is just furthering that perception. The field is only as weak as we let it be. Trump is purposely trying to hijack the Tea Party so it will split and fight amongst themselves when a true conservative does declare.
What's funny is, if you asked any TP member if they'd support Romney, they'd laugh in your face. Why Trump is any different is beyond me. Same flip flops, different feet.
I've heard so many say Trump is the only one attacking Obama. The fact is, Palin has been doing since September 2008. Bachmann has been doing it. Cain and West have too. But we don't hear about it because they don't get any play in the MSM. Trump, because of his national network presence, is an automatic news maker because of his celebrity. And he's relying on that celebrity for supporters. Such a shame that so many are falling for the cult of personality. Reminds me a lot of Obama's rise. That, and the blind eye to Trump's past.

I am not a Trump supporter and it’s pretty rare that I get mistaken for a Rudy supporter. I’m not a Mitt supporter, either, but one can’t joke about him getting married several times (Mitt’s great-great-grandfather is another story alltogether, but for vastly different reasons).

Great line, gonna have to steal that one if this Trump nonsense persists (which I doubt it will, Trump and his shills are well on their way to implosion, IMO).

I think Mitt might actually have more conservative cred than Trump. Yeah, it’s that bad.

The gripe was NEVER about your being a Trump supporter.
The problem is your “friend” spouts ad hominems.

The problem is your friend spouts ad hominems.I really don't know him from Adam, and quite frankly, it should have been pretty obvious I was being sarcastic. If you want to turn that into a food fight, well, so be it.

No food fight.
I don’t know him either although I’ve noticed he intrudes a lot.
Your comment was not obvious as you so state. A lot of people on this site support Trump. I think you might agree. I was never accusing you of anything anyway but merely making a statement.

Your comment was not obvious as you so state. You're kidding, right? How could that statement possibly be interpreted as anything but a dig at Trump?

No kidding.
Would I be kidding you if i told you that many on a Conservative site like FR support Trump?
Read it and weep, pal!
You might have been one of them.

Here’s a thought I came up with today:
Trump has flirted with running before. He’s never been ideologically strong, like many, perhaps he’s just a patriot who wants to save the country’s face and money, but is it possible that he, like many Tea Parties, really HAS woken up?
Perhaps he’s now serious about running, because he’s now serious about his positions, and truly knows now what he believes in? Also, he’s finally ready to address head-on the millions of questions we’re all going to be throwing at him...
Just an idea, who knows?
