In Oregon you must have a prescription for Sudafed, I found out recently. Also found out you have to have a prescription for catheters...now WHO would abuse a catheter?

The report tracked changes in the street price of methamphetamine. Prices spiked for six to nine months after changes in the law, then "manufacturers were able to retool operations and find new sources of chemicals" and the prices dropped back to where they had been.

If this happens with drugs, why not with gasoline?

Could be it's because the gubmint is actually serious about some things. Others, not so much.

“I literally have to show more ID to buy sudafed than I do to cast a ballot in an election.” That is a classic statement and so sadly true!

I’ve been dealing with this issue for years now since I have chronic sinusitis. No one here has mentioned the prohibitions on total purchases, either. If a pharmacy has a good sale, you can’t stock up because that exceeds the quota per day and quota per ten days. There is also a quota per 30 days, which I wasn’t aware of until recently. Found out when the pharmacy was out of the 12 hour/20 tablet pack so I bought a 48 tablet pack that you take every 4 hours. But somehow, when I went back the next week I had exceeded the 30 day limit. Fought with the Target pharmacists who referred me to HDQ who finally found out why the computer was rejecting my request.

The other thing is that they can’t tell you when you’ll be cleared to buy more. I’ve taken to writing the date purchased on the actual box of medicine so I know when I can go back.

NOTE TO OREGON Folks: If you have to get a prescription, get the doctor to write it for monthly refills! AND since it’s by prescription, you can use the flexible spending accounts to buy it.

the restrictions just force meth cookers to do it the old fashioned way...pull a gun on the pharmacist and demand his whole supply....Congressional dumba*ses!

I wanted to cough on him AND the checkout girl.

It wasn't their fault. You should have gone to see your Congresscritter and coughed all over them and their entire staff.

“I wanted to cough on him AND the checkout girl.”

Your response is very predictable. Politicians are happy that store personnel are taking the heat for their policies.

What we need is more common sense pseudoephedrine control, like a 3-day waiting period....

Yup. I get sensitivity to pollens in the spring and in the fall. It's a joke that the jackasses in our government require more ID to get Actifed, (which is the only thing I've found that works for me), than it does to get serious pain-killers.

My wife has cancer, and you wouldn't believe the drugs we've been going through, but it's harder to get freaking OTC drugs than some of these major pharmaceuticals.

Drug warriors can kiss by ass. Bunch of freaking nanny-staters.

I hope your wife is doing well...that both of you are weathering that storm. My mom and younger sister are both non-Hodgkins lymphoma survivors, and the evil of cancer has touched so many I know.

I wonder if it's a federal crime to send a congressman a dirty tissue? Oh, and I can't wait for the Obamination to tell us to "get some chicken soup" or shoot off another stupid admonition.

And diabetes test strips (Illinois). How in the world can those things be abused?
