Here in IL I literally have to show more ID to buy sudafed than I do to cast a ballot in an election.

“I literally have to show more ID to buy sudafed than I do to cast a ballot in an election.” That is a classic statement and so sadly true!

I’ve been dealing with this issue for years now since I have chronic sinusitis. No one here has mentioned the prohibitions on total purchases, either. If a pharmacy has a good sale, you can’t stock up because that exceeds the quota per day and quota per ten days. There is also a quota per 30 days, which I wasn’t aware of until recently. Found out when the pharmacy was out of the 12 hour/20 tablet pack so I bought a 48 tablet pack that you take every 4 hours. But somehow, when I went back the next week I had exceeded the 30 day limit. Fought with the Target pharmacists who referred me to HDQ who finally found out why the computer was rejecting my request.

The other thing is that they can’t tell you when you’ll be cleared to buy more. I’ve taken to writing the date purchased on the actual box of medicine so I know when I can go back.

NOTE TO OREGON Folks: If you have to get a prescription, get the doctor to write it for monthly refills! AND since it’s by prescription, you can use the flexible spending accounts to buy it.
