17 Countries Facing An Economy Crushing Demographic Crisis
Business Insider ^ | 04/19/2011 | Gregory White

Posted on 04/19/2011 10:06:34 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Economies across the developed world are facing the threat of an aging population, increasingly reliant on a shrinking working age population, according to data from the OECD.

While instances such as Japan are well known, the problem is endemic across Europe, with many countries seeing their dependency ratios, that is the amount of workers per retirees, shrink as we approach 2050.

That has the potential to cause serious funding problems for everything from social security, to pensions, to health care across the developed world, and wreak havoc on countries fiscal policies.

We've ranked the OECD countries projected to have the worst dependency ratios by 2050.

Note: We've listed all the countries in the OECD that are worse than the average dependency ratio projected in 2050. Retirees are individuals 65 years an older. Working age people are those age 20 to 64. The 2050 ratios are projections, and could change due to an increase in the birth rate, immigration, or the retirement age.

I’m not of this world and as far as I’m concerned, Satan and the communists can have it.

True, but most of the babies born here aren’t really Americans either. Legally, maybe, but not culturally, nor where their loyalties lie.

Yet, what can we do? Not much. Perhaps they’ll assimilate and all, but who knows.

There will come a breaking point. At some point, young people in all of these countries will say to hell with your “promises” I’m not paying. Revolution will be in the air. Those socialists in Western Europe are in for a rude awakening if they think that young Muslims are going to be paying ridiculously high taxes so graybeard whities can have a comfortable retirement.

But what’s the alternative? Other than trying to set a cultural change to encourage children.

Banning BC is something Iran or Saudi Arabia would do.

I guess China is not in the OECD, but they have a big problem too. It is projected that those over 60 will be 31% of the whole population in 2050.

No, we are going in the opposite direction as the world's third largest country. We will be approaching half a billion people in 50 years.

The U.S. adds one international migrant (net) every 36 seconds. Immigrants account for one in 8 U.S. residents, the highest level in more than 80 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest it has been in our history. And by 2050, one in 5 residents of the U.S. will be foreign-born.

Currently, 1.6 million legal and illegal immigrants settle in the country each year; 350,000 immigrants leave each year, resulting in a net immigration of 1.25 million. Since 1970, the U.S. population has increased from 203 million to 310 million, i.e., over 100 million. In the next 40 years, the population will increase by 130 million to 440 million. Three-quarters of the increase in our population since 1970 and the projected increase will be the result of immigration. The U.S., the world’s third most populous nation, has the highest annual rate of population growth of any developed country in the world, i.e., 0.977 percent (2010 estimate), principally due to immigration.

87 percent of the 1.2 million legal immigrants entering annually are minorities as defined by the U.S. Government and almost all of the illegal aliens are minorities. By 2019 half of the children 18 and under in the U.S. will be classified as minorities and by 2042, half of the residents of this country will be minorities. And by 2050, one in three will be Hispanic. Generally, immigrants and minorities vote predominantly for the Democrat Party. Hence, Democrats view immigration as a never-ending source of voters that will make them the permanent majority party.

Some of the countries thought that immigration would swell the numbers of younger workers, but that didn’t work out so well because there were few jobs available for unskilled, uneducated immigrants who refused to assimilate.

Communism and Islam are Satan’s right and left hands trying to destroy the Kingdom of God. Communism is for atheists, and islam for monotheists. After the rapture, those misguided muslims will be perfoming the God’s judgement (with their brutality) on the world, and they will spend eternity in a very different place than where they think.
