Pretending to run to the right of the GOP potential candidates, and pretending to be concerned about a birth cert (that even Ann Coulter says is a non-issue) is designed to do two things:
1. Turn the primary race into a food fight, drawing candidates into loaded arguments that can be used against them later; and
2. Aping his fellow hyper-self-promoting-wheeler-dealer-turned-election-scoundrel-arrogant-unstable-untrustworthy-creep...Perot, Mister Trump will run as an indy in order to take conservative votes away from actual candidates.

Trump is just stirring up the Political World by doing what he is doing. He is shrewd and very clever.
Mark my words, he is doing us a great favor here, and taking all the heat that other candidates can use later without getting labeled or Demagogued.
I suspect as much, except Perot was more genuine and had a better record.
