There’s a very high risk factor involved in all three. Both of my dad’s shoulders are pretty screwed up from wrestling in college, and that was over 40 years ago for him. Not to mention he’s broken his nose multiple times, though probably not all from wrestling.

Separated shoulders, broken bones, possibility of concussion, it’s always there.

While screaming like that definitely shows something wrong, I’ve never seen anybody on this website NOT say that the way to deal with bullies is to do it the old fashioned way.

No one is saying not to stand up to bullies. That’s ridiculous and I think you know that saying that is ridiculous.

I am saying there is a pretty big difference between parents cheering at a sport where their kids may get hurt, like wrestling, boxing, football or hockey and parents cheering their kid on during a fistfight with a bully in a school yard.

If you don’t see that then there’s very little left to discuss.

I've said it many times. There is a myth that all, or even the majority of bullies are soft inside and will crinkle if ever struck back. Sad truth is that too many are powerful sadists that get their jollies picking on those who are weaker.

I've posted it before, but I'll post it again for your benefit. I remember a kid at school who's father told him how to deal with a bully. They carried him away, moaning, barely conscious with most of his lip literally torn off from repeated blows. He was honestly never the same, physically or emotionally.
