The Department of Homeland Security is putting its new National Terrorism Advisory System (NTAS,) which consists of two levels of warning: 'imminent' and 'elevated,' into use within the week with an official announcement in Grand Central Terminal Wednesday from DHS Sec. Janet Napolitano.
--SNIP--
An "Elevated Threat" will warn of a credible terrorist threat against the United States. An "Imminent Threat" will warn of a credible, specific, and impending terrorist threat against the nation.
--SNIP--
It replaces the color-coded system used following the terror attacks of 9/11.

Does anyone think this is an improvement? I don't. This is more ineptitude from DHS under Napolitano.

I think air raid drills just like when we were kids. Use the fire house sirens.
And I'm gonna be real p**** if they lock down all the schools and the parents are denied access to them.

Two Levels: (1) Clueless and (2) We Don’t Give a Damn

Word on the street is that the old color system was VERY offensive to the Muslim Community. This new system will be more politically correct.

I was thinking of something form an old wetern. Similar to prepare to mount orders shouted dowen the cavalry column.
"Preare to die!"
"Dye-eh!"

The biggest threat to Homeland Security.
Unless he gets those hands on you.

Can anyone out there write a Sesame Street-styled song to go with this?

"Word on the street is that the old color system was VERY offensive to the Muslim Community. This new system will be more politically correct."And we all know there is no higher priority than that.
To: matt1234
So this assumes we will always be at an elevated alert level? Forever and ever?

I’d propose...

They left out levels for “disingenuous”, “counterproductive”, “unnecessary”, “wasteful”, “authoritarian”, and “vulgar”.
