Trump is a smart guy- he kows when an issue is being co-opted and being used to play him

No, he was a smart guy for speaking out the issue to begin with when no one else would. That is primary reason he rose the polls -- because he was the only "Republican" with the guts to take the issue on. And, conservatives want the issue addressed.

Now, he is just another candidate with a significant liberal streak.
