Sounds like perhaps she should have read “Atlas Shrugged” rather than medieval literature...
What a weird statement. No one is obligated to will anything to family. Einstein wanted his wealth to go to education and research, his right to do so.
Einstein had two sons. One stayed in Switzerland with his mother (whom Einstein gave the proceeds from his Nobel Prize) and never amounted to much. He had mental problems. The other emigrated to California and became a professor of engineering at U.C. Berkley. He had three children, two by his first wife and they adopted a third, this one. She obviously had a great many advantages, but she lived in the shadow of greatness.
LOL...I don’t know exactly why, but you post just made me laugh...perhaps the style was copied so accurately from those self-help things...
Great post!
Best guess is that she was not Jewish....and that's that!!
Wrong, common sense says someone should have reached out to this women, is not like they did not know her since she had made requests. It is obvious the woman had mental issues. The ones that failed to handle this properly are the ones you have issue with.
You might actually be qualified as shift leader at McDonalds with that.
A famous ancestor and $2 will get you a cup of coffee.
Grandfather got a job as a patent clerk. Perhaps she should have just gotten a job also!
(Note the constant anti-semitic tone in the mainstream press today.)
Einstein provided very well for his sons. He gave their mother the proceeds from his Nobel Prize, the equivalent of well over a million dollars today. Their mother bought some apartment buildings in Switzerland and should have been able to live a comfortable life. Her father was a professor at Berkeley and never sought support from his father.
Too bad her ex never caught bigfoot or she’d have had a lifetime’s supply of beef jerky.
What a strange thing to say. Einstein left nothing to any family member. He died in 1955, she was not in poverty at that time.
She was a highly educated woman and made really bad choices, that is her problem not his.
I shouldn’t have been drinking soda when I read your post...
If you have a degree in medieval literature, don’t you have to be goth, too? That would fit right in.
Yet you blame the Jews for not helping this adopted grand daughter of a well known dead guy.
Something tells me that if you had a five minute conversation with this woman you wouldn't give her enough money for bus fare. I've offered to help many homeless people. It's part of my job. 90% of the time they have refused my help. They want to be there.
Next you will be telling me how unjust we are because pollard is in jail.
The only thing anyone in my family has left me is the bills for their funerals....which I have gladly paid. Nevertheless. I have done quite well for myself.
My Hubby’s father has some money which he put in a trust. We don’t even know who the money is left to. Hubby always says....it is his money he can do what he wants with it.
I don’t understand your comment. Could you elaborate?
