Ditto: I was both privileged and proud to have voted for LTC Allen West. He is definitely a man for the times.
As a black conservative I have heard all that and more.
Liberals hate conservatives...that much is certain.
But there is no hate like the hate liberals have for a black man who does not vote democRAT.

My life long pal, a black guy, was my boss at several computer companies, and we've been getting together weekly since the 60's.
Until his dad died, in the late 90's, he was a life long demonRAT, and his dad left a large estate {millions}.
When my pal saw how much the death tax was, he went ballistic and when he whined to me, I just said, "What have I been telling you all these years?"
He's been a {closet} conservative since, because his "brothers" would kick him out of his group if they knew he voted pubbie.
I've met a lot of his friends, and they know I'm conservative, which they accept and we never talk politics, it's always sports or movies or kids.
His son-in-law is an ex-NFL wide receiver {over ten years in the league} and is openly conservative, but since he's a jock, no one openly gives him grief.
Go figure.
Just a couple of thoughts that popped into my head after reading your post.

The thought brings a smile to my face as well! Because it would vindicate Michelle Malkin's often repeated statement that the negative attitudes about Obama were not about the color of Obama's skin, but about the color of Obama's politics! RED!!!
Allen West, on the other hand, comes across as an honest to goodness TRUE BLUE AMERICAN PATRIOT who I would gladly vote for.
Palin/West. What other choice is there?
