Yes. Once you’re adopted, you get a new birth certificate with the adoptive parent(s) listed where your birth parent(s) were previously.

But the place of birth listed on the new BC remains the same.

i understand that a BC may be sealed when a child is adopted and the child never new his original parents. the adopting parents may want to keep that info from the child. but in obama’s case, what would be the point of sealing the BC since he supposedly already knew his original father or at least knew of him.
