They have so many protected classes that when they start going after each other, they wont be able to decide who to side with.When Muslims start attacking Gays,or when Hispanics go after blacks, then what?What voting base will they defend and at what cost to the country?

But that's completely beside the point, the point being whether this was a "hate crime." And the circumstance you mention could only buttress that point.
Perhaps if it came out that these two girls were pointedly out to "get whitey" and had used the fact of a transgender freak to justify their getting of whitey, I'd agree it was a "hate crime" as such things are defined. But I'm not a big fan of the "hate crime" institution to begin with.

I am not a fan of the “hate crime” distinction either. It’s a legacy of Mississippi jury nullification of the two men who murdered a black teenager. They never served a day in jail, though they admitted to the murder.

I did acknowledge the special circumstances in a later post. Still don’t see any reason for this kind of violence. That’s what the police are for.
That didn’t come out exactly the way I meant it. If the women were threatened by the transgendered person they should have called the police instead of beating him/her senseless.
Everybody involved in this fiasco,the victim,the attackers,and the employees cheering them on need to pull jail time
