I’m with you. Trump seems to be doing what a good lawyer does with witnesses: never ask a question if you don’t already know the answer. But anecdotally, Obama has nver impressed me as as a scholarly man. Compare his speeches with Woodrow Wilson’s, or Coolidge’s for that matter. Wilson’s are brilliant, Coolidge’s more pedestrian. But each shows the deth of a good education. His do not. They are showy and shallow,
Ever debate a lifelong academic? There are certain speech patterns, words and ideas they all use. Obama sounds like that. But mostly in his earlier recordings. His speech has been incredibly dumbed down for the masses in recent times. I am not saying he is smart but he is trained. Like all people who spend countless years in academia.
