I’m shocked that the Messiah would give up on funding SETI. After all, most of these aliens are clearly one million or more years old and could vote. He doesn’t seem to have the slightest problem with all the other aliens that he seems to covet.

Yeah, but the problem is, if space aliens enter the polling places in 2012, those guys are clearly illegal aliens, even if they take the trouble to get fake driver's licenses. Sure, Obama could go with them, and the media would fully cooperate, but people might get a little suspicious even with a news blackout.
