Over 1 Million Take Trump for President Poll
NEWSMAX ^ | 26 Apr 2011 | Jim Meyers

Donald Trump presidential poll has now received more than a phenomenal 1 million responses!

And the online poll continues to show that Americans overwhelmingly favor Trump as their preferred candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.

Online participants in the ongoing survey, a non-scientific poll, also support Trump by a wide margin in a head-to-head matchup with President Barack Obama.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the poll had received 1,026,891 responses, the largest poll ever fielded by Newsmax.

If the election were held today, Trump — who says he is seriously considering a run for president in 2012 — would beat Obama in a landslide, 65 percent to 16 percent. But that lead is just as sizeable when Trump faces off against the best and the brightest in the oft-mentioned field of GOP contenders for 2012.

Trump takes 55 percent of the vote in a field including Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and Tim Pawlenty. His closest competitor, according to the poll, is former Massachusetts Gov. Romney with 10 percent of the vote.

The online poll has already attracted considerable attention in the media. Outlets such as U.S. News & World Report, FoxNews.com, the “Fox & Friends” TV show, Fox News’ Sean Hannity, and Slate.com have all mentioned the poll in recent days.

Well, whatever side one takes, one can't deny that "The Donald" -- for better, or for worse -- has catapulted the "birther" issue into the consciousness (oxymoron, I know)of the mainstream media.

You say you’re a Libertarian but you know Trump is neither Conservative or Libertarian, but you’re still would vote for him? Doesn’t make sense. Sound like you like what he say now, and willing to ignore his record. Are you prepared for a major disappointment than he govern like a Liberal when elected?

If we lived in a somewhat SANE world, The Donald would not even be bothering to run. In a SANE world we would not have a Marxist, Community Organizer who has never done a worthwhile thing in his entire life as Pres. either!

Truthfully though, in the past 2 and half years we have had to endure our Pres. trash us to the rest of the world and treats us citizens with contempt. I know he hates everything about being American. The Donald on the other hand is speaking to Americans, not political parties.

Suddenly, Trump is the birther’s savior while Bachmann is now considered a RINO?

he{TRUMP}will do whatever to make sure his station in life is secure.

Do you have a theory why a billionaire -- living a charmed life that most of us can only dream of -- would have to run for POTUS in order: "to make sure his station in life is secure"

Can you be a little more specific?

Thanks!

Its unbelievable. The Birther care more about someone being right on this issue alone than any policy a candidate support that will improve the country. So if Trump support universal health care, high taxes, more spending, donating to democrats as early against last year against tea party candidate. They’re willing to turn a blind eye to that totally because he’s right on birth issue and going after obama on this

Makes me a sad panda

Wow! Good question. As I voted and worked for Bush 2 times out of fear of Democrats. Now....No difference. I will vote whoever the Libertarian is. I am no longer going to vote out of Fear. Bush gave me the TSA and DHS. Nahhh! I don’t like it. They are collaborators.

The Donald on the other hand is speaking to Americans, not political parties.

"The Donald" is not only speaking TO Americans; The Donald" is speaking FOR Americans.

He's saying the sort of things that most of us have said.

The difference is he's saying these things ON the TV. not AT the TV. (LOL!)

Just my sense: Okay, Trump has a lot money thus he runs with the ruling ELITE in this country. I’m not sure if I trust what he is telling us regarding his motivations for wanting to become president. Between him and the Obozo, Trump would get my vote but Trump could turn out to be the modern day Ross Perot. Sarah Palin, on the other hand, is a tried and true patriot and has nothing more than the better interest of this country. It is clear that she speaks from her heart and to me that demonstrates honesty and character. Allen West does the same and I trust that he too is a true patriot and that neither he nor Sarah will sell their soles for money/power and neither will cower to the one worlders threats that have shackled so many of the politicians who have served so poorly over the past 50 years. We had better get it right this next election because I fear that it may well be our last shot.

I agree and I’m a paleo birther. Sadly Donald Trump is the snake oil salesman that makes Ron Paul the attractive announced choice.
