Who alive today can meet the "citizen, at the time of adoption of the USC" part of A2S1C5?
We'd have a corpse in the WH, which might be preferable to the usurper there now.
Also, who at adoption could have met the NBC, 35 years of age and 14 years residency requirements?
No Amendment changed A2S1C5 It just isn't there.
The term was used by de Vattel in his treatise "The Law of Nations" which was written prior to the constitution in 1758. It refers to citizens who are born in this country to 2 people who are also citizens. The framers realized the POTUS had to have allegiance to no other country, so they made the bar higher for that particular office.
I seriously cannot believe you are continuing your attempt to obfuscate by bringing up the 14th amendment. No one said he wasn't a citizen if he was truly born in Hawaii. However, his newly-found COLB now brings to light what has long been suspected - he is not a natural-born citizen because his father was born in Kenya and was a British citizen at the time of Obama's birth; see the "British Nationality Act of 1948."
Maybe the constitution is a mere formality to you, but it isn't to me. Furthermore, as I have done my homework on this issue and come to my own conclusion, your argument that we should just "ignore the constitution" will continue to fall upon deaf ears, as I am sure mine will upon yours. Therefore, we must agree to disagree.
BTW, in your quote "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President...." there is no comma after United States, which is a very important distinction.
