A bad movie on an excellent book, is still a B-A-D movie.
Remember the annimated “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” movies. They were horrible, I mean I would rather read the fine print on my homeowners coverage than sit through those things.
On the other hand, a well done movie, based on a great book - is a stellar experience. I offer the latest films of “Lord of the Rings” as an example.
Or “History of the World, Pt1”
Mel Brooks never did Pt2.
You weren’t riveted to your seat as Burl Ives sang “Frodo of the nine fingers” to cheesy closeups of big hobbit eyes? I’m shocked to hear the height of film making disparaged in this manner. /s
Did you see it? Apparently you haven’t, with the small budget they had, it was well done. I’ve asked this questions to others on the website, but got no response. I wonder why.
The book wasn't even a good book, as inspiring and insightful as it may have been. Really, all you need is a pamphlet with Francisco d'Ancona's Money Speech, and a condensation of John Galt's radio address to about 1/10th of its original length, and right there you've got all of Atlas Shrugged you could possibly want or need.
I don’t remember the part where Taggart sang “Frodo of the Nine Fingers and the Ring of Doom”.
Smaug in the “The Hobbit” was awesome. The rest was forgettable.
