National news magazines ignore ‘Project Gunwalker’ story, embrace statist fluff
Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 27 April, 2011 | David Codrea

An overwhelmingly “progressive” mainstream press, one that continually stumps for yet more citizen disarmament while for the most part ignoring what should be a major lead story/headline-generating scandal committed by officials they’re supposed to be monitoring, is all atwitter with anticipation for the upcoming royal nuptials.

“All hail Kate Middleton, the woman who can rebrand the British monarchy,” Newsweek editor Tina Brown gushes as she introduces the weekly’s April 3 cover story.

Thank God for that.

A privileged progressive cheering on the regressive political institution of monarchy, invoking the Deity to laud the Divine Right of kings. How “Freedom is Slavery” Orwellian of her. (And why does Diderot come to mind...?)

Meanwhile, go ahead and search Newsweek for anything at all informing its readers about “Project Gunwalker.”* The search term “Gunrunner” yields nothing of relevance, nor does “Fast and Furious.” And while “ATF” scores some potentially germane hits, a quick scan shows most of the stories either predate the scandal, and the more current one ignore it altogether, focusing instead on using them to call for more “gun control."

Yes the MSM has an agenda. Yes they are more adept at spiking important stories than in covering them. Yes, they create scandals out of minor incidents to advance their agenda, and ignore major scandals to protect their politicians.

Well of course there's no mention, duh. Guns are *icky* and *scary looking* and the readers of these rags couldn't handle that. They'd all go hide in their closets just seeing *guns* in an article.

Worst of all, most would go rushing off to their shrinks(1), killing innocent bystanders in all the crashes that would result, and these rags don't want that responsibility. So it's for the greater good it's not mentioned.

(1) Hey? If these Libs are oh-so-smart, and all knowing, how come they all need psychiatrists? That's a little odd, isn't it???

This is a good one, worth reading.

Although I have never, and still do not, understand the fascination of the American media with British royalty. I thought we fought a war some 200 years ago to get these people off our backs.

I think that, much like the pagan Greek gods in Renaissance art - they lacked any punch as a threat to the overwhelming Christian sentiment of the time.

The so called Monarchy in England is an anachronism - they no more rule than the Emperor of Japan does.

The corruption at the top of the ATF is bigger than Project Gunrunner.

Proof the Pres. and Holder were informed by the U.S. Office Of Special Counsel is located in OIG/OSC File Number D1-07-0367 (it’s public info):

Quote on page (many others on the site, enjoy reading)

I have spoken to dozens of mid-level and senior managers over the last two years. In private, they agree. ASACs and SACs stating to me that the Bureau is out of control and something needs to happen before we are abolished. Anyone want to guess what their answers are to me when I ask, “What are you going to do about it”?????? Look its not my job, I didn’t break it I am not responsible for fixing it. I’m only responsible for my little end of the ATF world. That’s why we are where we are.

STEP UP, STAND UP, AND PUT AN END TO THE INSANITY THAT HAS BECOME THE 5TH FLOOR.SHOW THAT YOU DESERVE THOSE BIG SALARIES AND TITLES. Since most of your titles end with “In-Charge”, act like it.

Now why would our ENEMEDIA be interested in writing about 0d0rk0 committing an act of WAR against Mexico, at the same time he's committing an act of TREASON against our Constitution?

Where's the story of how Lohan barfed in her bathroom? That's the real snooze.

I still have not heard a good explanation for what was going on in Gunrunner. What was the point? To kill Border Patrolmen? To kill Mexicans?

There must be some way somebody was making money off this deal, otherwise it is truly not just wrong and scandalous, but utterly insane.
